So there are less than 10 drivers in your street, is that what you are saying?

Further to the alarm saga...I turned the thing off last night, but at 6.10 am, the kookaburras decided to get noisy outside my bedroom window, and when they had died down the mynah birds took over with a full blown argument.
No lie-in for me....

Indeed! Shortly after we arrived here, youngest son rode his bike through some grazing cockatoos, expecting them to fly away like pigeons ...but they didn't fly away!

....and the bats have poohed on my brand new skylight and freshly painted cream walls. No getting that off without climbing on the roof. Good job OH has finally come back from Perth. Tomorrow I'll send him up there. ATM he is sleeping, having only got 2 hours on the plane.

Personally, I recommend woodcock as a great accompaniment to pheasant - though they are even smaller, but definitely worth it! Watch for shot though

I would have never had you down as a ex country bumpkin Swerv
That's great you have managed to get hold of pheasant. Is it the same breed as back here in the UK?

I'm curious, how did you find living in a city after being a country bumpkin, had you always lived in the country prior to moving to Sydney?

What kind of dog have you got? If it's the kind that is bred for hunting then you can't blame the poor bugger! it will be in it's genes.

No lie in for me either I just don't seem to be able to lie in nowadays.
Too much on my mind I think, with the move and everything else that goes with it. Stubborn teens etc....

My ganache isn't set yet so I'm going to have to fill macarons after my evening swim instead of before.

Oh you've just reminded me Dorothy, I've failed my Lent promise, which was no flour, I had a croissant the other morning and yesterday on a day out with the family I had a pork pie, god it was good!

I usually spend Sunday baking. My husband goes on his old fat blokes motorcycle rides so I do laundry and stuff I like doing. I'm into sourdough at the moment but also do French macarons most weekends. Mondays are good days not to call in sick at either my or the old man's office. There's always food.

funny!

My husband sometimes goes on his slim blokes motorcycle rides, but I'm sure in another 5, 10 year or so it'll be the fat blokes motorcycle rides.

The first one was for a wedding a few weeks ago. 30 blue, 30 white and 20 cream macarons with vanilla cream filling.

The second one was the cake I made for my friend Kaz for her birthday/gay pride day.

The orange/chocolate was for my friend Chris' housewarming. I saw it on Great British Bakeoff and thought "I can do that!"

Dorothy they look AMAZING!

I love the GBBO! I had a go at one of their recipes, I did it for a party I was having at Christmas, I'm sure I have a photo somewhere. I'll try and find it, it doesn't look as good as yours but it tasted good.

I have to go now, the family are up ( lazy swines) but I'll find the picture this week and show you.

If you like those, have a look at what one company in the US produce, saw a programme about them on 'The Food Network' here in the UK so had to look at their site. On the programme I saw they made a Noahs Ark cake complete with lots of really detailed animals, a cake of an airplane for Delta airlines' and the runway was made of Godiva chocolates, and a subway train as a wedding cake, complete with grafitti, and even had 'Just Married' on the back with minitures of the couples dogs chasing after the train. I hate to think what the costs would have been.
