Just been told my temp job is going to carry on for another couple of months or so and if anything perm. comes up they are going to consider me for it.

Glad it all went well Caroline. Journey home doesn't like a fun experience but to be able to see will more than make up for that. Take it easy and get used to the eye working. I don't use my right eye at all, when an optician covers the other one up and makes me use it, it's exhaustng so hope you don't get too many headaches.

G'day! The op went ok yesterday- they had to give me a general anasthetic as they didn't want to put a nerve block into an arady dodgy central nerve system, so I didn't have to suffer being conscious while they poked around in my eyeball. However, the downside was that it took me longer to recover, and I was really woozy and nauseous. I took a taxi back, but got very car sick so got out and sat on a bench. Then a flock of mynahs swept ovehead and poohed all over me.
I jumped up and tried to move away, but passed out instead- luckily OH was there and apparently a bus driver stopped to help as well as some passers by. Anyhow I got home eventually and was put to bed. Slept most of the afternoon and evening, then back to CBD to have the patch removed.
Lo, I can see!!!! Not seen out of that eye for 40 years. The only problem is getting my brain to adjust to it. I'll have to have the left eye done as nothing matches- colours are different in the right eye, all clear and white is white, not dirty cream. Can't stay on here long, as I get headachey trying to focus. Lots of steroids and antibiotic drops to keep putting in, and back next week for a check up.

spent most of the morning trying to avoid a staff member who was involved in yesterdays drama... Didnt manage it too well and EVERY time she saw me she "had a go" at me... Honestly? part of me tginks, I'm a professional and have a hide of an elephant so should let it wash over me, the other part gets all teary thinking I dont go to work to be abused.... Think the increased pain may be psychosomatic... Because I feel so pissed off about it.....Was planning on doing some quilting... But will have to satisfy myself with browsing some quilters Porn instead... New keepsake quilting catalogue arrived yesterday...

My day? Spent the morning at work... All 5 hours of it... And am now lying flat on my back waiting for the painkillers to work.... spent most of the morning trying to avoid a staff member who was involved in yesterdays drama... Didnt manage it too well and EVERY time she saw me she "had a go" at me... Isnt it funny that doing the right thing often ends up with the innocent party paying a high price.
Pisses me off it does too.

Today my eye is flicking like mad- the surgeon says it is nothing to worry about, but it is annoying and I feel decidedly nauseous.

I was going to go out and buy a jacket at lunchtime, phoned up the store to see if they had my size - 16 and she said no, 'could you fit in a 14?' she asked - 'Not without hurting myself' I replied.
So its off to Ebay I go - seen something I like in a 16 for roughly the same price anyway.

Had a nice lie in,no work today and children on school holidays.Getting washed and ready to go in to the city.Have an appointment at the dentist.There goes $700 and that's not even half of it.
Will probably go for some coffee and cake afters if my mouth can cope.

Got a sore throat but soldiering on! Been up to TAFE today to see if I can do a Cert II Tourism course for free but looks as though childcare is going to be an issue. Maybe in Feb once mancub goes to kindy.
Waiting for the Escea technician to turn up and work out why my brand new fire makes so much noise as it warms up. It is silent afterwards but on warm up you could wake the hounds of hell!!!! He is due between 1 & 3 today. Not going to hold my breath though! I 'want' to mop the floor but not even going to go there until he's finished potentially making a mess.
Off to Kmart and Big W later to finalise layby for Christmas. Not going mad this year. Last year was obscene. Staple toys like Lego this year.
Taking kiddies on a fire station tour tomorrow so getting very excited about maybe glimpsing some hunky fire-dudes!
