Crappy couple of days, not anywhere near as bad as it was but lots of attitude and I was biting!! Doesn't help that we are both hormonal at the same time if you get my drift!! Anyway she apologised again today and said she really hates us fighting particularly as things have been so good over the past few weeks. Might we have turned a corner??? Anyway in the scheme of things my problems are insignificant compared to everyone else's health issues.

Hope everyone is OK today xxxx

Before I had the Hysterectomy, all three of us were on the same cycle. It was a fricking nightmare. I was waiting for the husband to move into the shed on a permanent basis. Even if it's a slight bend in the road and not a corner, you know she's a good kid who's just a bit messed up at the moment. You'll get there though.

I hope the GP can assess your dad and get him the proper care he needs. (not that I'm saying your family don't care- I mean that he needs specialist care to help him get back on track.)

Can I say something and I hope you dont judge me for it, I am in a way glad I am here and not there, I have had so much crap to deal with that I am saturated and literally cannot take on any more.

So whilst I feel upset and 'dad-less', I am also purely out of self preservation, relieved I can curl up on my sofa with my husband (or dog) and shut my mind to it.

I gave up Uni to nurse my Mum through cancer and it was so traumatic, not that I regret any of it, I remember nursing Mr PP through his recovery and that wasnt easy.

Now the thought of getting on a flight to go to the UK makes me ill and as you know, I have huge health issues so just dont feel able to do it.

Its not that I dont care or am not supportive, its just I am not in a position to fly back.

Anyway, going back on topic, this morning I woke up feeling better than I have done in ages - mentally, and in a very good/strong position (some will know what I mean).

I am going to look forward now and I believe I have quite a bit to look forward to so bring it on.

I totally understand! Sometimes it is more important to prioritise yourself (not something us girlies are good at) and it means you will be in a much better position emotionally and physically in the future should the situation change and, heaven forbid, you do need to do a mad dash across the world. He is not alone. He is getting the best care and attention he can get and he will know that you love and care for him no matter where in the world you are.

There is no way I'd judge you- my dad died of cancer last year, and I didn't go back to see him:my choice, as he had cancer induced dementia so wasn't really "my dad". My sister and brother looked after him and were there when he died. I felt guilty not going back, but with MS I was of no practical help to anyone, and my sister said I should remember dad as healthy and not have my memories scarred with what he had become.

I am glad that you have something to look forward to and feel more positive.

I don't think anyone is going to judge you for it Sam. We all deal with things differently and if the way you need to deal with your dad's illness is to stay here then so be it. You know your sister is there so he's not alone and like you said, you have enough on your plate right now.
