There's no basis for that claim other than the circular argument "we're not winning so we must necessarily be playing badly" . You can be playing extremely well and still coming up short - the binary result of sport doesn't take away credit for legitimate effort.
So you don't think a bowling unit can suffer a form drop? That's odd. Anyhow, your opinion. Once good, always good, let's run with that.

It's fine to claim one person or two is off the boil ........ thanks. I will

Binary Result? Yep "binary result" of poor bowling and bowling on day 1 and 2 flat tracks is test losses. It's not rocket science.

I am nice. Just helping those scratching their heads over batsmen when toss winning and better bowling should be the focus. Also helping those know where the reply with quote button is

The pitch is turning now as it was always going to do come day 3. Should be all over by stumps.

So what we're saying is Ponting, Clarke & Smith are all bigger tossers than Tim Paine?
Tossers win games?
If you're a better tosser you'll win more test matches?

No. None of the names you mention have a good toss record and subsequent test wins as captain record.

Ponting however had exceptional bowlers at his disposal for the first part of his captaincy which helps a toss loss.

Mark Taylor was the best tosser. His record at 2 up is excellent.

Virat has never lost a test as captain when winning the toss.

We were at a football match in Malaysia, LFC v the Prime Minister's 11. The Malaysian guy in front of us had a Malaysia shirt on, then when Liverpool hit the front he changed into a Liverpool shirt Have a great time!

The ultimate fair weather fan!

Ta, it was a good day, the game is delicately balanced after day one ... 8 quick wickets for SL tomorrow and it’s game on.
