The Beatles

There's an Aussie guy who plays a lot of Hendrix covers live somewhere in Sydney. He's fairly well known, but I can't for the life of me remember his name, Richard something or other I think. He does a really good version of Hear My Train Comin' as well as Killing Floor. He also plays a lot of Clapton too...unfortunately.
As the topic is the Beatles, Hendrix actually played Sgt Pepper's live before the Beatles had a chance to. McCartney recalls in an interview how he went to the 100 Club in London to watch Hendrix play and they had released Sgt Pepper's just the week before and suddenly he hears Hendrix playing it!

Richard Madden, that's it!

(Edit) Couldn't wait ... yeh, not bad at all ... doesn't overwhelm me but I'd go see him live.
(Edit 2) The version of Little Wing is pretty good too.
(Clapton) Yeh, don't mind the early stuff played with fire in his belly but I can ignore most of the rest, I did like From The Cradle though. There is an example of a musician who was better ON the booze and drugs.

Alan Partridge: 'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!".

I am huge Beatles fan. I go through stages of which albums I listen to. A few months back I had an Abbey Road fetish and it was in the car continously.. prefer the B side (or the later songs on the cd).. am currently drawn to Revolver, but its a pretty short album, so it is a bit dull in the car on a longer journey.. I think that one will be going to the back of the pile for a bit.
If I am going for nolstagia I would def play Rubber Soul.. it was played throughout my childhood so that just brings back happy memories!
I don't think I could decide which one I prefer, but if I had to choose then I would go The White Album... prob disk 1.. I don't get sick of any of the tracks and the music is diverse and interesting (to me).. Help and Hard Days Night I find a bit tedious and I haven't ever gotten around to replacing my Beatles for Sale or The Beatles Rock N Roll music vol 1 & 2 from vinyl to cds... My parents gave me the original vinyl for Rubber Soul (from the 60's) and St Peppers that they bought when they were first released..St Peppers still has the original sheet of cardboard with the cut out moustaches in it!
OK.. I am a geek! haha!

It wasn't meant to take the mick ... oh sorry, is mick allowed?
Don't get in a paddy ...
I'll make sure to check the date for any prominent massacres before I post in the future, OK? The World Wars lasted all year round so that is attempted humour involving Germans buggered ...

Ta very much! Will check it out later when party time is in full swing.

Classic.
If this is serious (and I can't be arsed to Google the date, I really had no idea) then I'm surprised you have reacted this way to me quoting a comic quote in response to a song by U ******* 2.

Comedy is a wonderful thing. People should use it more often.

Surely that's disrepectful to the memory of Linda McCartney ... or something ...
Interviewer - "So Paul, when you proposed, did you go down one knee"
Macca - "Hey, she's called Heather and no I didn't!"
