So back on topic, beautiful weekend in Tassie, lovely fresh mornings and sunny days
Lovely fresh mornings and sunny days! Lucky Tassie Devils!
It's snowing here this morning and very cold.....coming down quite heavy at the moment - settling on top of stuff apart from the ground as it's too wet...
we're sat here wondering now what to do all day! Only had 1 viewer on the house so far this weekend - wont be any today....
Anyway, all you tassie locals enjoy your bit of sunshine today - we're not jealous really....

Yeah, sounds good in Tas, doesn't it?
Raining here, had a viewing on Thursday, none over the w/e, estate agent has suggested we drop the price, which we have agreed to but feel we are on a slippery downhill slide - if we don't get enough for the house we can't go and if we don't sell at all, we can't go.
Damn property market, I wish we had done this 3 years ago when we sold our previous house to our next door neighbour! Kind of feel, we used all of our good luck up then.

Hope you get a viewing soon

When we started this last Feb/March time, it didn't occur to me that the house market would be so bad that we could not sell.
We don't have the visas yet but assuming we do get them, we will have until beginning October to validate (as pccs done last October), so time is ticking away now.
We had a long chat last night and hubby is adamant that if we cannot sell house (and we have to sell the house, could not afford to move otherwise)and move to Oz by end of September, then there is no point spending more money on another holiday to Oz (only just finished paying off last one!) just to validate. When I pointed out to him that this would mean we could never move to Oz, he said there has to be a cut off point somewhere and for him, October will be it
In a way I know what he means as this last year has not been fun, with all the uncertainty and not being able to plan anything, and I'm not sure I could carry on like this indefinitely but on the other hand if we don't validate, then it will all have been a complete waste

Sorry for moaning, feeling rather despondent today, bloody freezing weather does not help either!

Its exactly the same for us....so don't feel like you are alone!!

Thats why I was so adamant that Jerad went with 3 of the boys to validate, I will have to apply for a spouse visa 6 months before we go including the youngest 2 (like the bloomin Waltons aren't we??!!).

So thats not too daunting as Jerad is the main applicant he had to validate so we all still had the oppurtunity, I didn't want us to be left with no option of emigrating, so in that respect i'm really glad they did it!

We started the Houuse selling process last April and sold it at the end of May....nothing is ever 'Sold' until that final piece of paper is signed ....and we come so close ...such is life:curse:

I still have the HUGE urge to be in Tasmania as soon as is realistically possible....when that will be i'm not sure.....I would hate it if a bloody sale of a house was to scupper all that!!!!

Zoe xx NO MORE EASTER EGGS FOR ME!!!!

Hi Zoe

You've had more disappointments than us, so I feel really bad for whinging now
I guess there is nothing we can do (apart from the odd moan) we just have to keep our fingers crossed that we sell, in good time before end of Sept, otherwise I think that's it for us. At least it gives a deadline to work to, assuming of course that we actually get our visa!

Hi Sam. I knew that you were waiting on your visa's still - but didnt realise that your validation date would be sometime in October
I really hope you have some good news on your house soon...dont like to think that people go through all this stress and hassle for nothing.
I can see where you're coming from about not being able to do another trip to validate....so expensive to do especially when there's more than two of you... We're still paying for our trip last November...i think it cost us more than £7,000 what with Andy's loss of wages whilst we were away taken into consideration as well... I can see why the government is strict on the validation aspect - but in certain circumstances - when people are held back by property sales etc then i think they should be a bit more lenient and provide extensions. They do for certain extreme circumstances but haven't added selling your property to the list!

We haven't heard a dicky bird from our EA this weekend. Had the one viewer on Saturday but dont think anything will come of that. The problem we have is that our house probably isn't a 1st time buyers house unless they have good jobs or a big deposit - which limits us to older buyers....but at the same time if it was a family that bought ours they may be looking for something more specific....and to be honest there are quite a few properties not far from ours for a bit less money....so if it were me i wouldnt buy our house with the old kitchen - i'd buy the cheaper one with the new kitchen!
We've already had the chat about what to do if our house doesnt sell within the next 6 months and luckily we're in a position where we can afford to drop the price enough to hopefully secure a buyer in the area....however, as with anyone - the lower the price we get the less we'll have to take to Tas with us - so it's a double edged sword isnt it?
I hate the fact that a large part of everyone's life is always dominated by money.....so frustrating....

Morning Cathy

Hope you had a nice Easter Weekend...the kids had over 30 eggs my teeth are aching already!! I hate too much of anything ..it puts me off it completely.

It's a real pain waiting on the sale of a house isn't it?? It's bad enough when its just to move elsewhere in this country , let alone emigrating with your whole family and going to the other side of the world!

We had a fab weekend!!.....house full of dust, banging, drilling and it resulted in my bedroom looking like a room in Beirut with a hole in one wall and a bricked up window on the other Plus point is that it is pitch black in there which I love and Jerad hates!!
He woke up this morning and thouht we had left the light on ...it was 7.30 and he was off to work at 8.00 cue him rushing around like an idiot!! Glad the kids had no school......I won't be in an hour or so!!!

Best get on with my dusting....how does it get EVERYWHERE!!!

BYEEEEE xxxx
