I have to say this one last dig at Western Australia - I know you all forgive me as I do love my English friends but.......

at least in Tassie there are still some Australians for you to befriend unlike Perth which is as he admits in his location "Little Britain"

Kingston and Blackman's Bay are top beach residential areas as Donna says, further south but still within 30 mins are Margate and Snug, and over the river Howrah and Tranmere are good - but not sure about schools in any of these areas.

Actually there are loads of roses here and green grass oh and lots of water to water your roses and green grass. As for sunshine well, its enough for me I aint complaining!! Rose tinted specs wouldn't do out here as they don't cut out the glare, you need much darker ones to protect your eyes.

Our dogs have flights booked for 8th Jan to Sydney and we follow on 15th - spending 6 days in Sydney (seeing Bon Jovi there yaaahhooo!) then on to Tassie on 23rd Jan.

We will be staying at Cressy with some friends and will be looking for a rental near Lonnie. (renting house out here as housing market is rubbish!)

I am a nurse and I hope to get a job at LGH as does OH who is a social worker(but don't hold that against us!).

If there are any peeps around who would like a meet up end Jan ish then it would be great to put faces to the names!

I know Garyvr8 or what ever he calls himself is up that way. Everyone else is south of the island, so would be diffilcult to meet up. It would be good once everyone is out here if we could find a halfway meeting point to meet with everyone though. We could have a poms in Tas meeting!!

hi Beth, glad you liked the pics.... hopefully you could easily tell what was Tas and what was Perth! I loved the flowers that we saw in Tas. It was really nice after having spent 10 days in Perth to see many more flowers. I think if i lived somewhere other than the UK it needs to be somewhere with similar greenery/flowers otherwise i would really miss it. I cant quite remember where that old style house was - it was on the seafront somewhere like either Kingston Beach or Blackmans Bay..... i know we video'd most places but we haven't had a chance since our return to do the tape yet - once we have i'll let you know.... Only reason i took a pic is because it really is the kind of house i would love to live in! Not sure i could afford something quite like that initially though!!

Hope you enjoyed the Xmas concert last night! I have my daughter off school today - she was off earlier in the week unwell - we've all had somekind of virus - i'm due back to work this afternoon though - although i'm not looking forward to that as our youngest had me up at 4.00am this morning!!!! One of the joys of parenthood!

I think once New Year starts we should have a Poms in Tassie meet, Even if we do this every couple of months and choose different locations.
Could even meet up at a Ski resort in Winter and have a Poms Ski meet in Oz!!!
If people want to come upto Launceston know a lovely pub we could meet up at. Even if we have one in Hobart then one in Launceston, It's a lovely place and gets people out and about!!!!
Would love to meet some of you nice people.
Regards
Gary and Vikky
