Yeah same here...........can't leave it empty and pay for rent in Tas and pay for the mortgage
Been on the market since end of April now so hoping things speed up a bit after xmas.
Got Pickfords coming on Monday to give me a quote.......so I am doing something while waiting for a viewing

We are in an almost identical position ( Re: house sale!) and its not the actual 'selling' part its getting all the way to completion thats the real challenge:curse: we have sold it twice(once in May and then again in July) and had 2 offers at full asking price in the last month! So I know at least that the house is saleable.....just getting to the bloody end would be great!!
We are so set on going and are trying not to get our hope up too much on this 'sale' and stay calm.......its not easy is it when its something you really want and we have had the visas' since MAY!!!
Lots of people can just up and go without selling up....... we can't as we also need the money to fund our new life I wish we didn't ....but I dont know if I really like the idea of renting it out and being thousands of miles away
Oh well back onto Realestate.com dream some more.............Huonville looks so perfect...........we will look there in more detail in Feb .......Phew! I feel loads better after that!!!

Love Zo x

We had Fox to do our removals (obviously we didnt go!! )and they were reasonable and seemed really professional and are based in Cwmbran!!They are keeping all our details on file....can't wait til we have to ring them again ! xx

Our's will be going to the catholic school in Cygnet - great reputation - it is a 15 min bus ride for them from Huonville - they are pretty excited about being 'big kids' and catching the bus by themselves

Obviously can't help with areas as I don't live there yet but we liked Kingston, Blackmans Bay, Taroona on one side of the river and also like the look of some areas on opppsite side.
Hubby might even be able to serve you in pharmacy! If he gets a job that is, he has to find somewhere that the Pharmacy Council approve of and has to do 4 weks of supervised practice, which may be difficult in retail as there is usually only one pharmacist on duty, apart from big stores, which he would hate.
Anyway - makes me very excited talking about it
How come you are not moving until Easter?

Sam
Got friends living in Blackmans Bay; they're Brits, been living in that spot for over 10 years, and they think its perfect. Close to the Derwent, gorgeous views, easy to get on the highway and escape south if you want somewhere quiet for the day, but also near enough to Hobart for work.

Hi everyone!

Its great to hear more of you are heading our way! I'm in need of some friends I've been feeling a bit lonely lately. As hubby goes to work all day whilst i'm at home with the nipper. I've found some where for him to go after the summer hols so that I can go and get involved with something for myself. Dunno what yet!! But we've come out at the wrong time for me to make mummy friends as schools are breaking up for summer hols.

We've been checking out places to live, but we've decided to go a bit more rural than the average joe. Been checking out Ellendale this weekend, it's soooo lovely and pieceful there. And there's a lovely little river running through it full of trout apparently. Just need to check out where the nearest schools are, driving ain't a problem for me as I have a car anyway.

I tell you what guys Tassi is the land of opportunity, there is soooo much potential for runnning your own business here. I've got a few ideas myself and gonna give em a go. If I can sell up and move to the arse end of the world, I can sure as hell run my own business. Lucky for me I have a good business head, so hopefully I can put it to good use!!

Ahh well thats enough ramblings from me!! Sorry if I bored anyone!!

Kerry

Hi kerry

Definitely not boring!!

We would love to start our own business, have a few vague ideas but whether we actually ever do anything about it, is another thing!
Hubby dreams of running a small vinyard but due to costs will probably remain a dream but you never know.
We are hoping to be able to move as soon as possible when (if) we get the visa so hoping house can sell quickly but it all still seems a long wait still.

Thanks Pollyanna

Thats good to know, agree with Ian and Helena, does seem to have gone up in price. With property values dropping here and going in Oz, we'll be lucky if we get something nice but still hoping!
