It's a nice feeling when you start to see the wheels turning again.
Congrats all round.

Anyone else had probs with evidence of Pertussis vaccine? GP hasn't got proof i've had vaccine as too long ago. Can't have vaccine now as in this country it's not suitable for over 10 years of age.

Wondering of Occupational health can test for antibodies?

Or can you have it in another country/import?

Any thoughts,

Cheers

I contacted NSW Amb Infection Control Officer by e-mail to ask a few questions.

Her e-mail is: [email protected]

Basically her reply said the following:

TB: They will do a Mantoux test when I commence.

Hep B: A verbal or written history of Hep B vaccines, but do require serology for immunity

MMR: If born after 1965, immunity screen for all 3.If before none

Chickenpox:Verbal history OK

Diptheria/Tetanus/Pertussis: Documentation of 1 adult booster. If have difficulty getting one as they have only just become available in UK, we can provide one for you on arrival.

Hope that helps.

Can anyone shed some light on the difference between Paramedic L4 and the Paramedic P1 level? The ranks are listed on the ASNSW wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambulan...ew_South_Wales). The L4s have gold insignias and the P1s have silver. Is there a difference in skills between the two levels? If so what are the differences?

Just contemplating having to do the Light Rigid test in the 2 weeks before I start my induction to get it out the way.

Does anyone who has done the test remember where they did it?

Did you have to do the Driver Knowledge test at the RTA 1st as well??

Thanks

The Level 4 is a level between P1 and Level 5 (or ICP) its closer to Level 5 but without the Intubation and Magills and a number of the cardiac drugs, it's being phased out so nothing to consider.

A number of people used ABC which does the LR training in Paramatta it's increasingly hard to find someone to take it as the majority of people (in society) go for the Medium Rigid, similar to a 7.5tonne truck or slightly above.

The Driver Knowledge needs to be done prior to the Competancy Based Training or the standard test with the RTA.
practice tests can be found here;

Thats brilliant, i shall pass that on to my hubby as he applied about 3 weeks ago. Of all the things that could go wrong this seems to be one of them as the docs dont have any record of his vaccinations! Grrrrr!
