I'm a training specialist and my wife is a software developer. Have many suburbs in mind but we think wer'll need to see them in person to narrow it down. Some of the western suburbs look nice and better value for money.

How about you?

Im a hairdresser (going on 137 skilled sponsor visa) hubby graphic pree press. we love the sound of the mornington peninsular but think it will be too far out for hubby. ferntree gully sounds appealing as does patterson lakes (but not cheap)
Just had friends move 4 weeks ago, looked at Frankston and really didnt like it, so are now in geelong. havent even looked at that side as was set on the south east, but maybe need to re think! Like you say, you never know till you are actually there!

Hi everyone
Its been a while since I last posted but I was waiting for a contract to be e-mailed to me and it was taking forever so I started looking for jobs in the UK as I qualified as a midwife on Friday. Lo and behold yesterday the contract arrived and I am just about to sign it, scan it and start the whole process rolling so wish me luck! They want me to start on 11th February so will be looking to arrive in Melbourne mid January if all goes well. We consist of, me, my hubby Justin and our 2 children Lewis (7yrs) and Maisie (4yrs). Look forward to making some friends on here before we go!
Bye for now

I have no idea of the area we will be looking to live but one of the mums from school has just come back from melbourne and insists on me going round there so she can highlight the areas she recommends so will take her up on that now that the decision has been made.
Tara for now

If anyone's working on a tighter budget - we stayed in a 2-bed cabin (clean and functional) for $265 a week (Feb-March) at Chelsea Caravan Park. No broadband of course, but pool onsite and 5 min drive to beach.

Howllers - don't forget to catch up with us when you arrive as my OH is in pre-press

Hi Rachel!
How could we forget you eh?your area is on our list, near the top in fact, to explore as a possible place to rent for 6 months to a year before buying (all depending on justins job tho!)will need to get george into day care for about 2 days a week too and that is sounding like its gonna be such a pain with waiting lists etc! what do you do with your little one?
Justin definatley needs to speak with your OH about jobs too!
He is busy doing his cv in the evenings at the mo!
Getting regular headaches at the mo, think its the stress!!!we arrive 14th jan so would love to meet up with you all, if you fancy it we could meet near you when we are exploring ferntree?is it the basin you live in or is that the same thing?
