Hi Tracey!
My oldest is in Prep (no problem with primary school places). India is in 3 year old kinder - but that's only 6 hours over 2 days. There seems to be quite a few childcare places around and about, but I don't really know about availability.
Look forward to meeting you next year - yes, we're in The Basin, about 7 mins from Ferntree Gully.

Next Feb...that'll be steaming

I'm in Elsternwick, but go away for a week next Sunday 7th October, and will be pretty busy after that. Should be able to fit something in, and I'm happy to go down the Espy on a Saturday night sometime

Take it easy, mate, been a while since I seen you online

Hi! we are on a 137 sponsered visa, going on my proffesion. its the victorian goverment that sponser you, although dont quite know why its called sponsered as you get no help financially, and no help finding a job.
you are also supposed to be fast tracked but judging by everyone else's timelines, we re about the same as them. here is the link... Tracey

Hi this is my first post to this site.

My girlfirend and I are due there in early November on a 457 visa.

We are looking to buy a place as soon as we can and have been looking at places on the internet.

Seems like you get some nice places in Sanctuary Lakes and Caroline Springs (which looks better value for money).

Just wondering what people think of these places and if anybody knows how long the commute takes driving to the city?

Also anybody have any suggestions to other areas for a modern 3/4 bed house for $450,000 or possibly upto $650,000 although rather stick to the lower figure if possible!

Thanks,
Mark

I happened to be in the Basin a few weeks ago. Nice spot. Would be in my Top 5 places to live. Whingin Poms who hate the suburbs - try moving to a place like there.

Nice CFa station - nice gear - liked the hose drying/comms tower.

Hi Tracey, my wife is a hairdresser too. I wondered when you started your application to get an idea of timescale so far. We are just sending TRA to Oz at the moment. What does your OH do for a living? We were just thinking tonight that we are not at the high earning end of the skills bracket so it's a big gamble regarding work and paying rent or a mortgage coz we wouldn't want to live in anything that didn't feel remotely homely!!

Hi Andy

Tracey has gone to bed. I'll get her to email you more info tomorrow.

We started our application in August last year.
Because Tracey is self employed it took ages to get all the info together for the TRA (proof of hours, tax receipts etc).
We finally sent our visa application off in march, and got our visa 10 days ago.

I work in Graphic pre-press( image retouching/design/printing etc), were not at the high earning end either, but we will have a fair bit of money to take with us from the sale of the house.

cheers

justin

Cheers Justin,
How long did it take to get a reply from TRA about the skills? I know exactly what you mean about getting all the tax info together to present the TRA. We had a timescale of four weeks from all the forms arriving but it took Julie 2 weeks to get her head roung putting pen to paper properly while i was sat at the computer converting it into English!!
We went right into depth, detailing method statements for every aspect of her job, photographs with descriptions etc etc. When they drew up the stat decs for her old employer from years ago and sent them to us, they had bullet pointed everything about her trade!!! We were gutted! All that work and stress!! I think they may use all that info though but we just don't see it for the stat dec purpose. It's probably sent along with the complete set of info to TRA to make a better case.
Where are you hoping to land?

Andy
