'Which' gallons ? UK Gallons or US Gallons? US Gallon = 4/5 UK Gallon. (some people seem unaware of this and wonder why they don't get such good mileage per gallon here ).

So tell me again why Diesel is such a desirable thing? ; Noisy, smelly, dirty, and now - pricey!

well it is in the UK, it's the taxes on top that making it seem bad

but then again, can use public transport over there and driving 300 miles is a bit of a big thing

These days, over there, it ain't noisy, smelly or dirty though...and most cars you don't have to wait ages for glow plugs to warm up, just turn the key and go...over here on the other hand, it's still a bit manky.

Was in NH today and cheapest we found there was $2.17 which was pretty good.
