When my friends and family came over in the summer it was the same way, kicking back, taking the mick out of everyone and everything (particularly my mother who got quite flustered when she actually said the word dildo).

That's interesting you say "Plenty of Time" for Brit stuff. I always feel like I'm rushing around like a blue arsed fly here in the US; always got to be somewhere, always got make plans and have a bloody "Schedule", no popping round for a cup of tea or any of that, by and large. In the UK, I never felt like that; just a whole lot more relaxed.

Now, some it will be to do with the fact that we've got a 2 year old, however, even before she came along, I've always felt more time pressure here.
