Price of gas update...

Re: Price of gas update...
Still firmly rooted in the $2.50 range in my part of the Bay Area. Not saying it's not cheaper at Costco, but I drive almost 100/day and I just don't have time to line up for gas, so I visit the 'typical roadside gas stations'.
But the sun is shining and it's mid-November, so I have to remember that the Bay Area has its advantages

Down to $1.93 in Columbia, Just under $2 here. At this rate, maybe $1.50 pg by January???
FYI: From late 1998 thru early 1999, the price per gallon was about $1 - 1.10. 5yrs ago, it was about $1.50pg. Last time it was about $1.80pg was March 2004!

hey Bob, not to sidetrack, but I thought of you yesterday.. called for the heating oil quote and almost fell out of my chair.. $3.00 per gal.
That's lower than August 20 ($3.77) and not as good as last fall ($2.65 --9/26/07). And just to make you cry, $2.02 on 9/25/06. (Yes I keep notes, what, you don't? )

December futures for home heating oil was down to $1.83 today so I would think that the retail price should be below $2.50 by now.

Re: Price of gas update...
We ended up bringing in 200 gals at $2.80 in mid October. I really really wanted to wait to closer to the election because of the price trend, but we're doing some work in the house and the wood floors needed to be warm or something.
Put on a sweater! Like my mom says. lol
Just for giggles, I just called. Today's price is $2.33/gal. Good speculating, you should do this for a living!
We are ratholing the neighbor's stash for our next fill. He has just converted to natural gas and is sitting on about 500 gals next door. It doesn't cost much to get it moved, and he'll let it go cheap.
Our major issue now is that the new indoor tank is only 275 gals. We use 400 per season.

Hmmmm I won't go to Citgo as that is that Venazuelan chuffer's state run gas company. I go to the 'brand' stations as I heard places like Costco and the like just get cheap old gas from anywhere....I don't know if thats true or not. But as Shell is right up the rd from me it is convenient.

$1.89 here for regular. I filled the pickup from nearly dead empty to full last night for 42 bucks and change. Helluva lot better than the 80 it cost a few months back.

Re: Price of gas update...
I filled up at $1.99 yesterday, and apparently the prices went up 15c later that day.
It's probably time for a price hike, Thanksgiving just around the corner. Then it will drop again just after Christmas.
We were paying about $4.30 at the peak of the climb. We decided to move to save on petrol costs as we were paying $600 a month at that rate. Our move halved our monthly costs...
...and now that budget is more like $150 a month instead of $300...
