ahh the totalitarian approach... I'm guessing you're one of "those people" tho think games don't teach people or kids anything but running around outside teaches everything?
try using that "approach" in LA and see which one is worst... I
me - I go for all things in moderation, a healthy amount of each and every activity... apart from guns.

who said all day? everything in moderation
technology is a part of society whether you like it or not. harping back to the good old days of jumpers for goal posts and hide and seek is all very well. If you don't add a balance of IT exposure in with development then the most important thing your kids will ask of this world is "would you like that to go" . . .

I am probably gonna give the ps3 a miss unless i just buy it to be a blu ray player.
The new Nintendo wee thing however does seem to have something genuinely different to offer with the controller options...
Anyone thinking about getting the PS3 or Wee for themselves or kids for chrimbo?

Probably get a PS3 - at least if I dont like it I can make $2k by selling it in the UK before March!!!
The controller for the Wii is a great concept but apparently Nintendo are putting much store in this cos they cant compete graphically!

And remember that the ps3 controller is a poor rip off from the Nintendo. The air plane game developers said they were only given 2 weeks before e3 to get the controller in game.Personally I am getting a wii. I have a pc with a top level graphics card and so that is where my graphics fix is coming from. I don't need a blue ray or dvd hd player so why get a 360 or a ps3.
The controller for the wii is what differentiates it. It's going to be a different gaming experience from the other consoles and the PC. If you look at the games out these days on consoles and pc's they all tend to be sequels with lots of newer flashy graphics but underneath they are the same thing. What child of the 70's/80's wouldn't want to play a starwars lightsaber game on the Wii?
Also its cheap. In fact MS recently said in a press conference that you could buy a 360 and a Wii for the price of a ps3.

Some of the early stuff I've seen on PS3 is pretty amazing - but looking forward to seeing the finished deal. I was playing on the Wii last weekend and the controller is pretty cool, takes some getting used to though!
