Just finished watching series one on DVD -- was so good I had to binge watch. Helps that every other scene I'm yelling "I know where that is!" However I've obviously been gone too long -- my OH isn't the only one who needs subtitles.

It's a little silly, as the main guy, who's also being tipped as an outsider for a potential Bond, but anyway, he plays a hotel manager and gets roped into a bit of the spy game, passing on information from guests of the hotel.

A lot of fun though and worth a punt and quite a good bit of a back story they started to build up.
From the Le Carre novel, I presume. I enjoyed past serializations of his work. I've seen that the actor who played the pyscho in Happy Valley, James Norton, has also been mentioned as a possible Bond. He seems like an interesting guy -- Ampleforth, first in theology at Cambridge, then RADA.

Any one catch "Thirteen" and "Murder"? Both are a couple episodes in and both sound intriguing but yet to see them.

Not seen 13, but that is ONLY available via the iplayer as it is BBC3 which has moved to internet only. Am recording all episodes of Murder, but haven't got round to watching any of them yet.

I watched "Thirteen" but it failed my personal test of caring, i.e. if any, all, or some of the characters got killed off at the start of episode 2, would I care?

The whole situation seemed overly contrived.

That's what I was worried about. I think I'll probably give a couple episodes a go but might see about loading up a few more episodes first to binge it some weekend.

Houdini and Doyle

Crime drama involving the two folks and a female cop, set to figure out unimaginable crimes.

It was a bit slow off the mark on the first episode but ended well. Fun crimes and an amusing dynamic between all the characters even the ones that are out to watch them fail.

Only a couple of episodes in. ITV, but I think FOX has picked it up over here.

Just found this on Netflix. First series was fantastic and the second is getting better (but missing Andy Samberg sadly). Series 3 should be available soon too.

I'm not minding Thirteen, it's not brilliant but as a mini series, it's okay. Going through the range of was she the chick she claims, was she actually kidnapped and all that "emotional" guff. Not entirely terrible.

Finally saw the first episode of Murder, didn't care for it. They're one off stories, but told from the perspective of the cop, perspective and victim in little dribs and drabs of dialogue. It was weird and rather boring, not sure we will bother going back to it.

Has anyone caught "The A Word"? New been drama.

Also, Line of Duty, back for a third series.

The Tunnel (TV Series 2013– ) - IMDb

The Tunnel, is back for a second series next week. It was a great show the first time around. Very cold, stark stuff.

Just superb reality tv documentry series on Britain's railways. None of that pseudo reality tv that is passed off as reality TV. Various episodes explain why Trains are cancelled and or late and Rail staff dealing with passengers.

Four new series started this week, Undercover, starts off with a botched exection in the US, with one of the main characters being involved in appeals, then moves to Londonand seems to be about subversion, still too soon the make a decision. Have recorded Marcella to watch later so no opinion yet. The Durrells, about the early lives of Gerlad Durrell family, moving to Corfu (He wrote 'My Family and other Animals') and is from his writings, a rather misfitting family, but shows promise.
Disappointment was 'Tracks across America' Chicago to New York the long way, presented by Billy Connelly and it's that that was disappointing. Billy just isn't the person he was, he's suffering from Parkinsons, which he does acknowledge, and to see him trying to be the old Billy was rather upsetting, I feel it's a series too far for him, but the scenery and the journey looks very good, it's just I keep remembering him in the programmes about Australia etc, and he's just a shadow of the self he was then.

IMO one of the best TV series is back...Scott and Bailey.

Edit: Very disappointing. The DI has gone...pity because she used to have some great one liners. It used to be funny in places...now it's rather boring.
