The Last Kingdom

A tale of Wessex and its battle with the Danes, via the story of a Saxon heir child caught by Danes and raised as one of their own, fights with Alfred, as he tries to regain his former lands.

Better than Vikings, has a touch of GoT, without the fantasy, but whatever comparisons, this is good enough to stand on its own two feet.

I'm lining them all up for a binge. I love the Bernard Cornwell books.

We saw The Coroner, last night which had the Goose and the ambulance chap from Casualty. He's the cop, she the coroner out in Cornwall. It's a little slow, but has potential. Each episode seems to be one off stories.

We have a couple episodes of The Spy, not seen it yet, but sounds like it could be a good little mini drama.

Live at the Apollo, is back, which is usually good. A couple episodes so far, but the opener was a little disappointing.

I have recently relocated to the costa del sol (Fuengi) and as much as I do love the Spanish culture, as terrible as it sounds, I miss UK TV!

Seeing as Sky TV is no longer an option, can anyone recommend a reliable (and cheap) solution?

VPN/DNS service, or mediahhh for live stuff.

As for tele, we finally got around to seeing The Casual Vacancy. It was a 3 parter that came out in the spring but the missus hadn't read the book then.

A bit of a slow start but quite intense towards the end and not a bad little series.

It wasn't nearly as shocking at the book though.

Basically about a class of the middle classes and the council estates in a fancy village setting. Some one is up for election and families get mixed up with each other and it's all about how they cope when things go wrong, which doesn't sound to interesting but I don't really want to give away too much.

I suggest you post in the Spain forum. Ex-Pats in the USA are unlikely to be able to answer your question is well as people who actually live there!

It happens.

If a paid service, time to try a different server (They should have a bunch). If free, time to (a) scout out another one or (b) time for a paid service.

Largely though... Yes, from time to time IPs get blocked and it's time to move on.

We have Nord VPN and this happened with us. They told us to change the proxy settings and that worked.

Very strong rumours that the BBC are filming a new series of 'Some Mothers do 'av 'em' with both Michael Crawford and Michelle Dotrice returning as Frank and Betty. Filming is due to start early 2016.

Yes it is...reminds me of an upmarket 'The Street'...a series which was shown on UK TV a few years ago.

I finally had to give up on London Spy at episode 4.

The Great Pottery Throw down....it's terrible, yet quite compelling, because of all the knob references, you can't help but laugh like a 12 year old watching this show.

It's not quite as camp as the hair dressing or sewing competitions but it is trying

You did two more than me and I only watched the second because I was sure it would pick up.

It was no bake off, but what is?

Still managed to binge our way thru it last week though.
