Yes they're awful :frown:

These are standard, not on highbeam. You can buy bulbs here that are brighter than are legal for the roads (but they don't actually say that on them) for offroad vehicles, but some people like to use them on their normal headlights.

Interesting, I did not know that, .... might explain a few of the times I thought someone using main beam lights.

I'm afraid to say I have these (I didn't choose them they just happened to come on my car) and they are damn bright, but still legal. They have a slight blueish hue to them. It does look like they're on main beam from certain angles in the mirror if they're behind you. They're bloody nice on unlit back roads though. :getcoat:

I might have to look into getting some because the dipped beam lights on my Mustang are like having a couple of glow worms sitting on the front bumper! :(

Mooselights possibly?

Those canuts are eye wateringly bright.

Maybe it's a ford characteristic, cos our F150 has crap lights too.....feeble yellow, and no sensible spread on the beam.....it's like having tunnel vision.....makes turning unlit corners quite interesting!!

I live out in the county and have an 8 1/2 mile ride down a paved road that used to be all woods and now is a mixture of woods and estates off the main road. I take my time when it's dark because there is still plenty of wildlife out there. I used to blink my lights at pickemups because I thought they had their brights on, most of the time it turns out that they don't, it's just the angle hits me right in the eyes. Those bluey white jobs are something else again!!! :frown: Meanwhile my headlights are fogged up, DH got some of that Only on TV cleaner and used it on the outside, but I think the problem is on the inside myself.

So did that stuff work? The lights on my Accord are horribly fogged - looks like mildew on the inside (like you, I think it looks mostly internal, but I'd like to be proved wrong!)

They're not quite so irritating when you have them in your car lighting up the road beautifully.

(I still curse people when they have them and I get blinded, despite having them myself ).

What is it with motorway roadwork signs when there aren't any roadworks?

There's a stretch out our way that has had the signs up for the last 6 months, so they can double the speeding tickets I guess, but no actual works.

Then last weekend, well they were starting them on the Monday, but had shut 2 of the 3 lanes down Thursday night in preparation. WTF was that about?

Annoyingly enough, they didn't actually say the lanes were closing until just after you cleared the last exit, so you couldn't get around the mess.

Oh and what's up with trucks and buses with those "stop for all railroad crossings"? What a pain in the arse that is. Half these tracks around here aren't even bloody used. Numpties.

Beats me, I've always wondered. .... which is safer: stop then move really sloooowly across the path of any trains with no momentum in the event the engine stalls, or take it on the fly, getting quickly across the tracks, with no risk of stalling, and if the engine does cut out momentum will carry you clear of the tracks ?

Don't they usually say "Road fines doubled when workers present" or something: a leave we don't get on the UK side of the pond.
