Robin, I hope you have a lot of money saved for retirement. They say you will need a lot more than you think and friends have told me this is so. What about medical insurance, for example?

With the money he makes from selling his staplers, I'm sure Robin will be fine.

Both my employer and my wife's employer continue our current insurance up till Medicare age, for qualified employees who retire after they attain the age of 62. We will both be 62 this year, a few months before our planned retirement.

And yes, I agree that to be prudent, folks do need a lot saved, since you probably can't rely on more than a 3% yield from savings for annual retirement income.

In addition to staplers, I have two scotch tape dispensers and two nice pairs of scissors.

(Edit to add, of course you cannot rely on anything as hyperinflation could wipe out all savings.. and that's just one of many bad scenarios.)

He has FIVE file cabinets. Most people retire with only one, maybe two at the most. My grandpa lived to be 90 on just one drawer but he was verrry frugal.

I don't suppose you have a nice staple extractor lying around, by any chance?

I hope you realize how very fortunate you both are to have that.

I picked up an extra one during the process of our relocation. Not sure it is exactly 'nice' but it does the job ...

No, but not that far off

Two joined and converted portacabins that used to be a couple of sales trailers for a homebuilder we work for. All done out nicely actually, plus we got brand new computers, not the old ones from circa 2002 that used to take fifteen minutes to load windows ...
