5 lbs bag of sugar, by a whisker, doesn't fit into our 5 lbs sugar canister.

Seriously, WTF.

Turning off the car engine whilst the radio/cd is playing at normal levels and then when you turn the engine on again the volume is loud enough to blow your brains out. WTH is that all about?

you have to tap the container to get rid of some of the air that got in while you were pouring it, then it will fit..

That's a bit disturbing because mine always resets to be quieter than I had it when I restart my car  :(

I suppose it could be reasoned that I do like my car stereo loud enough to shake many thoughts loose from my head while I am listening to it ...

Take it as a health warning. Sugar should not be bought in bags of 5lb.

When you do as much baking as the missus, it beats buying it in tiny bags...

Hang on a minute Ms monetpenny20; you are in Australia? I have been moaning about the word 'bobby pin' as an Americanism, and why can they not just say 'clip', have I been amiss? Do Brits call clips, bobby pins?

I had not heard of kirby grips, but google tells me that bobby pins, kirby grips and what I though of as clips; are all the same.
