Of course if you are retired and over 75 then opting for the Senior Advantage Plan through a private insurance company such as Humana, Scan, Blue Cross, Blue Shield is not the smartest thing to do right? Nah! Just go on paying that extra for supplemental coverage to cover the 20 percent not paid by Medicare. Ha ha ha

I work in healthcare - and I would never, ever, invite an insurance company into my guaranteed benefits. I have seen some truly awful decisions rendered by insurance companies on care for old and sick patients and they're on a fixed income so they never want to appeal for fear of getting stuck with the bill.

It's actually only about $1,400 maximum deductible for the first 60 days in a benefit period. It's certainly far less than 20% when you consider a hospital bills at least $700-900 a day to Med A for hospital inpatient.

Not my experience with our private insurance coverage. My wife has a number of medical issues to deal with. Not once over the past five years has any kind of service been refused as related to treatment. The only bill that had to be paid was for laser treatment to remove cataracts and glaucoma pressure in her right eye through insertion of a stent. Had she chosen to have non-laser surgery the treatment would have been at no cost

I suspect strongly that's because you deal with 2 peoples healthcare financials, and I deal with thousands in a given year.

Larger sample size will reveal the reality.

Well Kamala's campaign is imploding, still can not help but think she has been promised something.

That's what we are told. Where does the coverage 80% figure come from then?

Original Medicare

  • Part A Premium: Usually free
  • Standard Part B premium: $144.60
  • Covers 80% of most medical bills.
  • You pay the remaining 20% of costs, with no yearly limit on what you pay out-of-pocket.
  • You can buy a Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy to pay some out-of-pocket costs.
  • If you want drug coverage, you can enroll in a separate drug plan (Part D).
  • Can use any doctor or hospital that takes Medicare, anywhere in the U.S.

That really only applies to the Part B outpatient stuff, rather than the Part A inpatient.

All IP stays have set figure per diem co-insurance rates, usually after a stay of 60 days (hospital) or 20 days (rehab)

https://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...it/4277686002/

About 90 additional foreign students of a fake university in metro Detroit created by the Department of Homeland Security have been arrested in recent months.

A total of about 250 students have now been arrested since January on immigration violations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of a sting operation by federal agents who enticed foreign-born students, mostly from India, to attend the school that marketed itself as offering graduate programs in technology and computer studies, according to ICE officials.

It will be interesting to see if this has any impact.

I’m still a bit puzzled, what impact this story about the fake ICE university, what impact would this have on the 2020 election? Haven’t the US government been using these types of tactics for a while, under more than one administration?
