Oh no, he ruins lots of non-political threads too.

Give me credit for one thing though. I've never allowed you to be the sarcastic bully you've been to several others who had the bloody cheek to disagree with any of YOUR opinions.

IMO all you have to do is be smarter than those that are trolling you. Bernie is/was smart enough to know what to say/do. Gabbard may choose to play politics and that will be her own failing.

ION

I have seen more Bloomberg commercials in the past two days than all the other candidates combined ... other than Tom Steyer but I'm counting the (pro impeachment) ones that Steyer ran before he even entered the race.

Perhaps. I think you're right about Gabbard playing politics. Of course Bernie doesn't really play politics he just keeps relentlessly on message. It's probably a big part of why pundits never understand him or his campaign.

Fascinating article about Obama and his thoughts about various candidates in the Dem primary.

https://www.politico.com/news/magazi...s-biden-073025

A few comments:

1) It seems to validate Alex Pareene's view of why Bloomberg and Patrick are jumping in the race (at least the Obamaworld part) https://newrepublic.com/article/1557...gns-make-sense
2) Obama really doesn't like Warren and further he seems more concerned about what a successful Presidential bid from Warren means for his legacy as opposed to what it means for the country.
3) He was right about Kamala Harris not getting the support of the black community.
4) His view of Biden as a campaigner is pretty much playing out as expected, but really anyone could see that.
5) Obama is more forceful when speaking out about the left than he is about Trump, which is troubling to say the least.

Oh and this is a devastating critique of Mayo Pete.

I do think the fact that Bootyjudge is viewed as a front runner in the Democratic primary when he has no support from black voters is a massive issue for the Democratic party as a whole and the punditocracy who keep bigging him up as the golden boy.

One thing that Tulsi does very well is when she goes after someone it's effective. She did it to Harris before and she did it to Buttigieg this time.

I'm not going to go over the whole Russian thing again as it's so overblown. The Russians are going to interfere, as is every other country, as they always have. It's just so tiresome to have this implication, that because the Russians like a candidate they are automatically bad. Rich people like Buttigieg because he is looking out for their interests. It would be nice if we could do something about the influence of American oligarchs before worrying about Russian ones.

Gabbard , like Bernie, is a choice for Democrats and independents who do not like establishment Democrats and candidates, like the Clintons, Harris and Biden.

Sanders got 43% of the vote in the 16 primaries. Gabbard is polling at 2%. So... not so much.

So you are comparing 2 candidates diving the vote against polls including how many do we have now 20 or so?

I am sure they learned their lesson in 2016 and realised the need to take her put early, they have Bernie and Elizabeth splitting their vote and now we have Mayor Pete coming through, which is weird to say the least. Presumably to allow Biden to walk it. Difficult to keep up.

More like the Democrats’ Rand Paul.

A valid comparison.
