Just 30 days ago Bernie went onto Fox News - of all outlets for him to go on - and said that Joe Biden was in the pocket of billionaires and accused him of "bailing out crooks." He also said that Biden's policies had "devastated" blue-collar workers. So yes maybe if he is lurching from one extreme on Biden to the other so quickly, and he thinks that as a Democratic primary candidate he should be campaigning to a Fox News audience, and well just reading through his political manifesto yes it becomes clear Bernie has dementia. |

Sanders? You mean Harold Stassen? Now he loves Biden? When did this start?

I got curious, of the 53 house seats California has, 6 are republican. There were 7 republicans but one resigned in January, and was sentenced to 11 months in prison in March.

Unless some creative lines are drawn, my home district will likely never be republican again. Republicans don't even run anyone serious for the seat, the same guy keeps running without any opposition from other republicans, he has lost the last 2 times, and I will take a wild guess and say he will lose again, best he has done is 28%. Even smaller parties don't waste time running anyone, the incumbent probably has one of the easiest campaigns, do nothing and win. The republicans almost make it too easy for my voting district for democrats to win. |

Re: 2020 Election
Where I am now the Republicans have an edge, enough to make somebody I know who is a Dem register as a Repub, that way she get some say.
When I was in Boulder Country I forget the percentage but a complete waste of space registering as a Repub. Now a different system would produce different voting patterns. The Election in both cases is meaningless, the proverbial glass of water would win as long as it had the right initial after it, Primaries are what count. The odd thing about Colorado is the distribution from a geographic perspective, you tend to assume that Colorado is fairly Dem but the Dem areas are a tiny percentage of the land mass. It does not matter which way it is around but can not be long term sustainable where there is such a disconnect between different areas. Especially when things become more and more diversive. |
Re: 2020 Election
If Biden wants to super excite the base he would select Stacy Abrams. Very brilliant politician and can deliver a knock out punch line like no other. She puts Georgia in play. She is also respected by both sides of the gun argument. For legal gun ownership but demands tough background checks. Harris would be a solid choice.

I would have thought Gretchen but she does not pander to the Intersectionality base so maybe Val?

Sanders has evidently decided that a senile Biden is better than Trump. I don’t think the electorate will be agreeing with him.
I still do not understand why the self flagellation, would seem to be easier to put forward a candidate that would win by a comfortable margin. At least the bookies will be happy. |

The fact that Trump hasn't jumped on this like a tramp with a sandwich speaks volumes. |
