No biggee. I don't expect everybody everywhere to know about the nightmare that's been visited upon women's right to choose in Texas over the past few years. I do find this unexpected turn of events to be fascinating though.

Interestingly...Scalia and Ginsburg were close friends. The two couples even occasionally vacationed together. Talk about apples and oranges.

Leslie and I can be friends, too. It works when folks don't throw mud at each other.
I have lots of conservative friends and relatives. We have more in common than not. |

How does this affect the stuff already on the calendar? The SCOTUS is supposed to hear arguments on the Texas abortion restrictions case in a few weeks.

No, quite the opposite. It's a wash though. If they tie at this point then, had Scalia not shuffled off his mortal coil, they would have definitely upheld the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals decision.

One case where Scalia's death could make a difference is the lawsuit against the California teachers' union about compulsory union dues. That seemed to be heading to a 5-4 ruling for the plaintiffs. With Scalia gone, that could now be a 4-4 tie, which would leave the 11th circuit decision to stand, which went against the plaintiffs.

Did Leonard Nimoy Have Antonin Scalia Killed to Give Obama Enough Supreme Court Votes to Cancel the 2016 Election? | HardDawn.com |

According to some Leonard Nimoy! Yeah you heard it right. He faked his death to assume leadership of the illuminati and the bilderberg group. Some even say the super bowl half time show actually predicted Scalia's death!
