I expect that your posting neutralizes the supposed suggestion that Bernie Sanders is a Nazi and we won't hear any more references to it - unless it's OK for the left-of-center to point out odious comparisons between the Nazi programmes and those of a current Presidential candidate, but not for the right-of-center to make similar comparisons of the other side's candidates.

Or maybe both should be pointed out for their idiocy

Arbeit Macht Frei ...

But no, that's utter bollocks. There are similarities between Hitler and Trump though. They're both ******s.

Trump's rhetoric about rounding up people and sending them back from whence they came is horribly reminiscent of lebensraum.

Sorry, can't help it. :( I don't know that its as much an analogy as a reality, because it's all I've thought of since Trump first started talking about his plans and I find it very disturbing.

Joking aside, you're right. Some of the stuff he has spouted off since his election bid started beggars belief.

Yes, there is a difference. Bernie is considered a Nazi because socialism, which is absurd, but if you actually read the article, there are disturbing parallels, even if it is shrouded in speculation and hyperbole.

I have made no comment whatsoever with regard to Sanders.

I never said you did, I was referring back to the original point.

Because I agreed with your point about Trump.

The Nazis = Socialist canard is line with a belief on the American right that Nazism is leftist, even though any political scientist worth his salt would note that Nazism was a right-wing extremist movement. It's just another example of historical revisionism.

Americans see strong government rule as leftwing, due to the communist dictators. Everyone else sees it as rightwing.

The US rightwing's hardon for the military and police somewhat contradicts their own philosophy for this though. Less government, except for the bits of government that use a gun against people they don't like - those guys need more money and more power.

Have any of the candidates (either side) proposed a budget/tax plan that doesn't increase the deficit by trillions?

Bobby "hey I'm still here" Jindal's apparently reduces revenue by 9T over ten years.

“We simply must require that every American has some skin in this game,” Mr. Jindal said in a written statement. “If we have generations of Americans who never pay any taxes, it will be very easy for them to turn a blind eye to absurd government spending and to continue to allow our government to bankrupt our nation.”

Do people still believe this trope about not having skin in the game? I guess so.

Seems like another plan to get the poor to pay more and the rich to pay less.
