I switched off almost as soon as it ended, and much as I don't like Man Utd, I have to say I never saw that, I find that unlikely, I certainly saw Rooney and Giggs shaking hands with Barca players.

There are other skilful Man U players - Nani, Rooney, Giggs - but yes, it seemed very strange. May have been another case of Fergie deciding to punish one of his players who had spoken out-of-turn. Having said that, I don't think one single player would have made much difference to Man U's performance. Barcelona have a style of play that denies possession to the opposition and wears them down both physically and mentally. In order to compete with them you need a game-plan that allows you to break down their rhythm - it's plain that Man U didn't have this yesterday. To be fair, very few teams do. Mourinho's Real Madrid perhaps came the closest, but ended up with players being sent off, so only won one out of 4 games.

I didnt see any unsportsmanlike conduct
As far as the match is concerned, United do have the talent. However they dont use it the same ways as Barca do. The first 15 minutes, United were doing well ... however it was even then clear to me how fast Barca were. They were working completely as a team and seemed to second guess what the others were doing.
It's a frightening realisation that playing relatively badly, Man U managed to win the Premiership this year. Yet put up against the best of the Spanish they just didnt have the ammunition. So how would Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal fared?
The Spanish are at their peak at the moment .... years ago it was the French. Things will move on, maybe the Italians next
Just on another note, Park is a real grafter and has been a really good player for United over the season. Last night he was, as said, all over the place just trying to keep up with Barcelonas speed

As Stevie said you have to have an appropriate game plan to take on Barca and in that respect Utd were as clueless this time as they were last.
Chelsea played them perfectly when they were unfortunate to get robbed by the ref in the semi two years ago.
They alllowed Barca all the possession they wanted up to the edge of the box where they met a solid brick wall and never even managed a single shot on target till the 90th minute.
Utd seemed to be intent on taking them on in open play, so as to be expected they never even had a prayer.

Well at least Man U fans can point to the fact that yet again their team won the Premiership.
Speaking of which, the following was broadcast on sports news: Man Utd fans will today unveil a "19 times" banner at Old Trafford. In recognition of how many times they touched the ball last night.

For anyone interested in the English FA stand against FIFA corruption, what strange bed-fellows we seem to have picked up along the way.

Seems it's all happening in both the UK and Spain.
Man U humiliated 1-6 at home to their City neighbours.
Change in the English order perhaps.
Then what about tiny Levante in the suburbs of Valencia without a penny to scratch their arses, top of La Liga above Real, Barca, Valencia and the rest.
First time in history.
No doubt it can't last, but they're certainly enjoying the moment.
They've had a fantastic welcome home like they've just won the cup
A Tale of Two Cities.
Manchester where money counts,
Valencia where at present it doesn't.

What's that supposed to mean ?
I quite like Terry myself, a genuine honest player who always gives of his best.
Pity those crap gossip columnists can't get themselves a life.

The Chelsea v Arsenal game was fantastic. Either team could have won but whats happened to defending.
You cannot win championships if you concede goals so easily.
Also watched the Norwich v Blackburn game. When the luck's against you there is not much you can do about it. A deflected goal and terrible penalty decision. All in the last 8 mins.
My team (the O's) seem to have turned their season round afer a terrible start to the season. Never doubted them.

I doubt there's a "superstar" playing today who hasn't messed up at some time or other.
Some make unfortunate slips such as that, not necessarily their own fault, others make much more glaring and often hilarious mistakes big time, so what, remember tis only human to err.
We can't all be perfect now, can we ?
