Are there enough posters here interested in football, to contribute to a thread on Spanish and UK football?
Obviously if no-one answers, the thread will drop away.
Anyway, news from the UK. You've probably heard that Liverpool has (at last) been sold to the owner of the Boston Red-Sox. But there's sad news too, the passing away of Malcolm Allison.

Yes, well now Liverpool has been sold, maybe we can all get on with our lives and concentrate on the real footie out there on the park.
I see Valencia are the surprise package this season having sold their big stars, yet still topping the table last time I looked.
Not forgetting newcomers,Hercules early form of course, stuffing Barca in their own backyard.

John Lennon statue at Liverpool Airport says "Above us only sky." Someone's written, "below us only Wolves and West Ham"

The jury is still out on the new owner. He doesn't have a huge fortune to spend and today he was careful to promise absolutely nothing regarding new players or a new stadium.
Should be an interesting season, apart from Chelsea looking good for the title again, everything else is in the mix.
Man U seem to be fading, more bother with Rooney, and they also could be strapped for cash to strengthen the side.
Two or three of the sides that looked certs for relegation are doing quite well, so it's anybody's guess who will face the drop.

It's been a long time since West Ham were only a point behind Liverpool.

Fergie's admitted Rooney wants out. I wonder if he (Rooney) feels the weight of the British media? I personally don't think he's the type of player who would prosper outside of the Premiership, but let's see. I suspect he'll have a change of heart and stay at Old Trafford.
