only kidding. Listen, i dont expect anyone who doesnt smoke, to have to breathe in smoke, thats pretty obvious, and not all smokers are Hitler just cos they have 20 fortuna in their top pocket.

I agree with a PARTIAL ban, just think it shouldnt apply to pubs etc.

You can carry on in your hermetically sealed, disinfected, pure as the driven snow existence, but be careful as BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU!!!!!!!

I live and work outside for the most part and breath the air as nature intended, and its now lovely when I sit and have a pint I don't get forced to smoke.

Look, smokers and non smokers are never going to see eye to eye on this subject so why not just leave it at that.

Anyway, I thought the thread was about the smoking ban in Spain which dosent affect those in the UK anyway.

I remember a long time ago when I worked for the Pru collecting monthly monies from a house in Ashburton where there were two elderly sisters. The fug was so bad that I couldn´t breathe and I don´t suffer from asthma and the walls and ceiling were just nicotine yellow. It was absolutely awful.

What's up rugbymatt, aren't there enough non smoking bars and restaurants for you to frequent? Surely it should be up to the punters and the business owners if they prefer a smoking or non smoking enviroment, spain at the moment is one of the few countries to treat people like adults and give them the choice, if you see a sign on the door smoking permitted and you don't like it then go somewhere else. You can obviously tell from this post that I am a smoker, but there is space for all of us!

Hi Willy,
In my area I dont know of any non-smoking bars and just the odd restaurant with a segregated area,in any event most ppl.just seem to ignore the law around here so I agree with Matt that a complete ban in all public places is the way to go.
Like Matt I have always been an outdoor person so I find the stife and smoke in most bars so bad that I just never use them.
