Theres nothing wrong with a bit of lightheartedness.
In my opinion tbh, and don't take offence, it is totally useless starting a simple answer and question thread. In time it will become unusable as no one will be able to find (a) the questions and (b) the answers. I think you will find most of the posters felt the same, hence the banter.
I think I can say that now I have a better understanding of you and I am aware that you are a serious sort of person I will most probably stay clear of your postings. The last thing I want is to cause any more upset.
(in more ways than one)
Like I said in my returm pm, I thought it would be easier to post a thread for each question as it is very difficult to find the right answer to each question and also difficult for anyone in future to do a search for info.
unbelievable!
sorry but I honestly cant believe the Forum Nazis sometimes!
I am in soooo much trouble for destroying this thread!
I realise I probably sound like a miserable old git with the above, but I feel addressing each point is the fair way to answer people. Amusingly, I just looked up ‘git’ and the definition was ‘goods in transit’.
Thank you all for putting your points and answers here.

I have no idea whether it is possible to close a thread on BE but I have presumed that if you stop posting on it there is nothing for people to respond to and it will drop down the pages until it is lost in the sands of time.

I am truly sorry you feel this way, but if you take a look around you will find that almost all of the threads evolve, the reason behind which is they are organic, made up by people talking and discussing, and as already mentioned this is part of the reason why a thread covering EVERY Q&A regarding Spain, however breif is almost impossible to do.
Not least because any useful info gleaned would be interesting to put up on the stickie at the top of the page, and jdr is already busy I suspect without trawling through post after post of chat.
Half the point of the site is the making of friends, a prime example has been illustrated recently, and since we are all of differing backgrounds and ages, situations and desires, we all have to find some common ground. That usually manifests itself as humor!
The reason for my short replies? Look at the title of the thread.
