Yes I have Zone Alarm and AVG. I've had my pc tested and its invisible on the net.

A router is another bit of equiptment you need to go wireless,you would be able to use your puter in the garden or anywhere in the house wires free if you had one.Good luck with your downloading.........

Thats a site you just log onto, click a button, and it tests various security issues on you pc for you. You don't download anything.

Do me a favour, one thing at a time, make sure your security is OK first.
Zone Alarm btw is not freeware, you have to pay for it.

Do i really need zone alarm though.

Im downloading ok at the moment the avg i have 22mins left on that then i will just download all the others one at a time so im getting there

Normally with a router you have a firewall. I guess the alternative is an internal modem if you don't have a small box connected to your pc about the size of a paperback book.

Are you sure you don't have dial up connection as opposed to Broadband? Thats a long time for AVG to download.

Hi Guys

Just want to say thank you all for your help and your patience with helping me.

I have successfully removed norton and i am now downloading the avg.
After that i will download the other things and let you know how i get on.

I followed that link you gave me and i downloaded it and press run and this is how long it says i have left 70% done 14 mins to go xxx

Zone Alarm Pro with anti spyware, virus check and email protection?

I have the bt voyager 22v adsl voice router equipment.

Do you think i may have done something wrong
