I am going to buy myself a new car next week to help carrying the gear around. Things are going very well here and we love living in Spain. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Welcome to BE. We are a friendly and informative lot so ask any questions that enter you head and be prepared to be asked questions too. So here are a few to be going on with. Have you looked at many places yet? You say near to Valencia but in which direction were you thinking of basing yourselves? Do you speak Spanish or Valenciano? Will you be looking for work or retiring early?

Hi Peter

How lovely it is to hear from you!
I was only thinking about you the other day, and wondering how you were getting on.

It's great to hear that things are going so well for you
You put a lot of preparation into your new venture, and you obviously know what you're doing with your business - so all credit to you for transferring those skills over here and making a success of it.
Have you met any interesting characters yet in your new kickboxing world?

So glad that you are happy and enjoying your new life.
Do keep us updated, won't you?

All good wishes to you,
Sam.

Everything is going great, I have met a lot of very nice people since coming here and a lot of people have been very helpful. I have met quite a few CHARACTERS in and around Benalmadena Pueblo, you know, the type of characters you need to keep away from.We have a load of young kids and their parents are great as well.
We have some adverts going in school magazines at the end of the month so things should keep on going well.
Thanks for your kind thoughts, we will keep you updated

Hi all, thanks for all your friendly greetings.

As I said before we have a quite wide search area (30-45 mins from Valencia) but have recently focussed on Lliria. Any thought/advice/tips/warnings?

Bit of history.... Cherrill & I have been coming out to the Valencia region on & off for the last 23 years. In fact Cherrill goes further back than that - she lived & worked in Valencia itself for just over a year back in 1979/80.

Most of our holidays have been in or around Javea but more recently we ventured up to Alcossebre & Vinaros. But they were holidays!

We have done a fair bit of homework and have decided we would like to settle near to Cherrill's stamping ground. We don't want city life but still would like to have reasonably close access to the best city in Spain (don't all flame me, just our opinion!!)

I know we are going to have loads of questions for you all so I will raise them as they occur to us in separate threads. For now here is one of the things for which we would welcome advice:

We have two 9 yr old cats, very much part of the family - leaving them in the UK is not an option. Any advice on transportation? Catteries? Vets?

Looking forward to your words of wisdom.

Cherrill & Gordon

Brought our 10 year cat over 5 weeks ago by Monarch from Manchester - no problems whatsoever. Send me a P.M. if you want any further info.

If you fly with British Airways you can take your cat as excess baggage.
Sounds daft but it is true I have phoned them
