What ever you post is irrelevant or just smokescreen
i) SKY GO is conditional on having a Sky account which is conditional on meeting the terms and conditions of the SKY agreement. 2) iF you actually believe what you post then I suggest that you get those you know using SKY to call them explain that they are having connection issues, give Sky their exact location and then let us know what SKY do. To log onto a SKY GO you have to give your SKY account number, name and UK POST CODE. ( SKY installation address ) Since when did Tenerife, or Hong Kong or wherever have UK Post Codes ???? . If overseas viewers can get a SKY account directly from SKY why use third party installers ???. |

Of course you do need to use one of the illegal VPNs to allow you to connect. |
Re: Goodbye Sky TV
So is that what some are selling, a proxy ( illegal ) VPN to connect to SKY GO ????. Not that anyone on this site would know about this of course.

Re: Goodbye Sky TV
I was joking about the "illegal" VPNs. VPNs are not illegal. Using one might be depending on what you are using it for but that's another issue.
All I was saying is that if you have family or friends in the UK with a Sky subscription it is very easy to share their Sky Go or even Sky Go+ subscription. It does have limitations such as the output from your laptop cannot be via HDMI or with an iPad/iPhone it will not connect via Airplay using an Apple TV but clearly it will be an attractive option for some who don't wish to pay(legally or otherwise) for a full Sky subscription. The reason Sky put in the connectivity blocks is that they don't want you to use it on another TV (Multi Room for £10 is their preferred choice for that) but they are happy for the family to watch it on their iPad etc. |

I tend to agree with your concerns about the possible costing model.
It's another reason to give the Slingbox option serious consideration for people that can install the box back in the UK. I have a friend in the UK that will let me put my Humax box in a spare room - or another who will let me double up his settop box in a spare room if I want UKTV via another slingbox. I bought the SOLO from amazon, only 80 quid and well worth it. I am happy with SD TV when away from home - and it uses less internet bandwidth speed and less Gbytes**. Just have to figure out the internet issues mentioned before Jon ** BTW I would go as far as saying that the cheaper SD box (=Solo) is better than the HD box. Especially when traveling in 'dodgy internet' areas - where you may not have the bandwidth etc. Or you dont want to use up someones GB's. Id rather have a good SD picture than a possibly blocked excellent HD one. |

Yes you do but as Sky subscribers are allowed to have two devices connected to their account they can easily agree to "share" one with you and give you their account details.
Of course you do need to use one of the illegal VPNs to allow you to connect. DNS is like driving down the same motorway but BBC/SKY only allow YELLOW CARS to watch its programs .DNS paints your car yellow so you can get thru |

Re: Goodbye Sky TV
You tell others to understand the Law.
With the greatest respect YOU should understand the Law and if YOU do YOU will know quoting just a paragraph from this Judgement is highly misleading . Just look at the last two paragraphs of the Judgement ! Best Loco [QUOTE=BAT7311;10632339]part A is ILLEGAL since http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/d...cp110102en.pdf In its judgment delivered today, the Court of Justice holds that national legislation which prohibits the import, sale or use of foreign decoder cards is contrary to the freedom to provide services and cannot be justified e |
Re: Goodbye Sky TV
BTW I notice on your website you claim to have a solution that to qoute you
"take the DIRECT LINKS from the BBC/ITV themselves and ´´using magic´´ allow you to watch them ." What " Magic" powers do you have ! I would love to have them. Regards Loco |
Re: Goodbye Sky TV
I doubt that there are any legal Sky agents in the UK with authority from SKY to provide a SKY UK service ( TV and SKY GO ) outside of the UK. SKY UK's broadcasting remit is limited to the UK.
What BAT calls SKY agents are in fact the same as the third party re broadcasters or those SAT installers in Spain etc. Anyone who reads any of BATS responses today remember it is April Fools Day. |

SKY GET PAID ,THE AGENTS GET PAID I GET PAID, THE CUSTOMERS exercise their LEGAL right to FREE MOVEMENT OF GOOD AND SERVICES under the treaty of rome ,ratified by the ECJ and as for 1/4 i will not make any jokes as its a UK holiday and im in spain so dont want to be seen to import it without permission ....:D |
