I looked up Sky Realm and got this but suspect I'm a little off the mark. Can you advise what or who is Sky Realm? Thanks.

(ps. I am a little sceptical at the claim, by the way.)

Sky Realm is a sky sat company which operates from Portugal and Spain and has done so for the past 10 years,With a name like Clever Dick you should know this or maybe you should change your name ??

And it's a very long way to ship the satellite so it can be launched from there, even assuming that there is a spare launch vehicle.

It's not like Easyjet!

well they moved to USSR because it was cheaper..............
but then Ariane had its problems as well
although this is probably covered by some clause in the contracts I would expect a wait of a week before they can give a positive statement of intent.
it isnt as if 2E is needed to watch goings on in Syria or something

Never heard of them. I'll have a chat with Satellite Steve when I'm next over.

Guess I'm notsocleverdic then :o

Actually, Dick is my real shortened name and I have no need to change it but for clarity, I will add my real real name as a signature.

Regards, Richard (my real name)

(ps. still sceptical about their claim!!)

Re: Goodbye Sky TV

how can someone be a "official Sky installer" when the Sky is a UK service only ??

EMR Jul 2nd 2013 8:24 pm

Re: Goodbye Sky TV

No of course not, they all work under the radar as far as Sky is concerned, UK reg phones so Sky do not know where they are etc etc.

Re: Goodbye Sky TV

are you telling me that all those luvverly people worrying about their Sky TV are actually in breach of contract or colluding with others in the same ??
British expats aren't like that

Re: Goodbye Sky TV

but then from what I read the installers/resellers are very well thought of

just like estate agents who work so hard to sell you an illegal property, ex odd-job men, brickies mates, even plumbers - although I did meet one guy who was "something in IT".
I know one guy who installed satellite systems with the lowest prices in the business, he would travel 100km to get to a house, his only call of the day and spend most of the day on the job. Then come back twice because the dish had drifted or plugs had come undone, all at no extra charge.
but as a carpenter he was more than qualified - so its small wonder he and family had to go back to UK as they couldn't pay the mortgage.

Following thorough testing and research, working methods were introduced to vastly improve standards of reception of BBC channels, making evening reception of BBC2 possible for the first time on 1.8 metre dishes in the capital. The installallation service closed in 2011.

Sadly, we can't recommend anyone completely trustworthy in Madrid for installations.

If the Astra 2E test plan is the same as the first new uk tv satellite Astra 2F, that was launched late September 2012, and had UK TV channels early December 2012....
