Re: Goodbye Sky TV
Well you could try being a bit more helpful. I Googled it and I still have no idea what you are referring to.
It is normal on this forum for members to attempt to answer questions from other members rather than just suggesting that they Google it. If Google was the answer to everything then we would not need this forum so if you accept that then please try and be more helpful to other members in future. |
Re: Goodbye Sky TV
Perhaps the poster was suggesting that it was available through one of the re broadcasters. ??

If you read some of my recent posts on this forum, you will see that I have given helpful info to people enquiring about the area in which I live!!!!! BBC iPlayer, is available on subscription, outside of the U.K. |

Not the original version. You are talking about the BBC Global iPlayer app which is available on the iPad.
It's nothing like the normal UK version. It possibly shows the way that the BBC is now thinking......Hey, there is cash to be made from online TV outside of the UK!! |
Re: Goodbye Sky TV
Providing its the original broadcasters who get the money not dodgy re broadcasters who want to take our money with no assurances that we will continue to receive the channels we are paying for.

exactly what I said - restrict the releases.
What "releases" and what type of "restriction". |

do they have the desire or the guts to do it ??

That still doesn't make any sense.
What "releases" and what type of "restriction". it is within their gift to "release" material onto the iplayer platform as they see fit, therefore, within certain bounds they have the right to restrict what it is they release and when. Look at their radio programmes where you find resrictions on rebroadcasting, it isn't there in a continuously available library just waiting for someone to call in and "borrow" it or to stream it to the world for free...... And obviously you haven't noticed that the BBC isnt always the owner of the copyright of many things they air, just the muggins that commissioned it. EMR got it first time, what don't you understand about it, it isn't complicated, the owner of the rights restricts what they release and how. Its called The Future of Broadcasting, also known as The Worm that Turned. ` |
