Gibraltar 2

WE lived in Shoreham before moving out here, the harbour is useless, its got lock gates and the outer part is tidal so movement is limited.
It only deals with timber and dredged sand and gravel from off the Isle of Wight these days.
Could do Plymouth to Gib in 2 days if only for freight.

I shipped a car out with one
Also I am still in contact with the owner

I believe La Linea is Spains worst covid city.
I crossed into Spain and back this morning transporting someone with a medical appointment in Spain.
Not sure about leisure but believe it is a no go.

At the moment covid is the main problem, people with Gibraltar work contracts and correct ID are OK.

I know that some Brits prefer to live in La Linea (cheaper) and work in Gib. Has Gib crossing stopped accepting Gib ID cards?

No passport stamping, Gib and Spanish ID cards accepted.
My trip yesterday did not see us stop the car.
But this is often dependent on whether the Spanish officers got their leg over recently. ( This has always been the norm )
There are no and never have been checks on the Gib side for people exiting.
The people living in La Linea and all over the Campo whilst working in Gib are a multitude of nationalities.

Just read that Gib will tomorrow receive next batch of vaccine. Starting 2nd doses for those who had 1st dose 3 week ago.
Not like UK mainland 12 weeks gap nonsense.

Vox are amateurs, the DUP would have voted against it too.

The Chief Minister said he would not tire of thanking the RAF, RAF Gibraltar, MOD Gibraltar, the Convent, the UK Foreign Secretary and all those who had made the delivery possible.
Fabian Picardo said: "Now Gibraltar can start to administer our second dose of the Pfizer vaccine

Journey takes about 6 days, based on Port of Gibraltar, Gibraltar to Port of Southampton , United Kingdom - Sea route & distance - ports.com .
Too expensive to run passenger service to UK.

However it may not be necessary to sail UK-Gib-UK but to make Gib a stop on other routes.
From my link above
"Other supermarkets are also looking at alternatives to the land route to ensure they can resume normal service with a full range of products in the coming weeks."
Also I can inform you that whatever reports there are about food shortages in Gib Morrisons are well stocked with Easter Eggs

MEDICS in Gibraltar have now given Covid vaccines to nearly 40 per cent of residents - compared to just four per cent in neighbouring Spain,
I believe that now includes all the over 70's and frontline workers some of them Spanish residents having had the two jabs plus many others.
