8th July 2019The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has welcomed and agreed that Gibraltar should become a full member of the Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion Profit Shifting (BEPS), a global mechanism to strengthen tax transparency.
Gibraltar's entry in to the BEPS framework had been blocked by Spain but Madrid has lifted its veto following the signing of the tax treaty covering Gibraltar and Spain. https://www.chronicle.gi/oecd-welcom...eps-framework/

On Sunday evening the Gibraltar police arrested a man and a woman at Gibraltar airport for being intoxicated in charge of children.
Both adults were in their 50's. Disgusting.

Victor Sanchez del Real who represents Vox in the Spanish congress, has requested to know what detailed information regarding the supertanker was facilitated to the Spanish authorities prior to the arrest.
Vox reiterates that Spain maintains that British Gibraltar territorial waters are Spanish waters, and highlights the arrest resulted in a breach of Spanish sovereignty. The party asks what measures will be taken as a consequence.

There were people in the frontier queue exiting Spain yesterday - and what an experience that was!

From early afternoon, it was taking a couple of hours to get through

Spanish frontier queue chaos | Gibraltar Panorama

Please note this is into not out of Gibraltar which often takes much longer

I was originally of the opinion that they would close the frontier immediately the result of the referendum was announced but unfortunately that didn't happen, but there's still time yet.
The 15,000 people who cross from Spain's most impoverished town each day for work here are of little concern to Madrid.

However I lived here in the 70's and 80's when the frontier was closed and still believe those were the best days.
All I would like now is for this frontier and the Irish one to be treated equally, but no chance of the EU treating people equally.

Basically it is a safe friendly place
Unfortunately there was an increase in crime after the frontier reopened but it is still far less than in Spain.
Also plenty of work opportunities although I am now retied.

Five ferry operators have now been engaged, and one contracted to begin test operations in preparation for a no-deal Brexit. This has been confirmed by the Gibraltar Government. The ferries would be used to import goods and export waste in the event that there is no other feasible option.
