Maybe you did not read my reply correctly. Hopefully you enjoy very good health and therefore do not have to avail yourself of that service but it is a fact that each and every expat pensioner in Spain is covered by a payment of £247 per month irrespective of whether they use the Spanish medical services or not. Is that clear enough to you?
I (for other reasons) have S1 forms for myself & my children - but the UK doesn't pay anything to Spain for us because I haven't registered under the state healthcare system with them - I am registered as a self-employed worker & pay for our healthcare myself |

4. Trolling
Trolling on this site is not tolerated. We define trolling as any inflammatory threads or posts that are started with the sole intent of upsetting or antagonizing other members. Anyone found making such posts will be removed from the forums. If you honestly dont think that as a new member, coming onto an expats forum and attacking the members rights to a benefits that they are quite entitled to isn't going to raise hackles, then you most certainly are being a little blinkered. And now I'm pathetic ... well, if thats all you've got I'm cool with that  |

With due respect I specifically referred to UK pensioners and your reply indicates to me that you are not in that bracket.

no I'm not - but the fact remains that unless a pensioner registers with the state healthcare system here by way of an S1 form, the UK doesn't pay for them

Would you be so kind as to read my first post on this subject and take note of the fact that I preceded my thoughts with a question inviting a response to my own thoughts on the subject. As a "Super Moderator" one would have thought that you would have made note of that.
Your subsequent posts have only cemented my feelings But youre still here ...... and by the way you are posting in Plaza de Toros so you have to have a thick skin in here |

Of course I would fully accept that it is the responsibility of them to register and if they do not then they suffer the consequence of their action. Why would people not register other than the obvious of having something to hide!
nothing to with having anything to hide you do seem to have a rather low opinion of your fellow man :( |

Re: Expats Heating Allowance - Justified?
To qualify for an S1 form do you have to be officially resident with all that implies ?
If so that would explain why those who want to fly under the radar regard the UK as their scource of free health treatment even as no longer UK resident they do not qualify. The late father of a work colleague did just that having retired to Spain 15 years ago always came back to the UK for any treatment, using his daughters address. He never became resident. |
