Ever met a genius?

Ever met a genius?
I don't think, in all my years, that I have.
The closest I've come is attending a concert in which the guitar genius Paco de Lucia played. But I never met him. I also had the privilege of watching the football player Glenn Hoddle live. But again, that's not meeting someone.
I'm hoping someone here has met a genius.

I much preferred watching his performances on the park, to his rantings on the goggle box.
I knew one of his predecessors at Roker Park quite well in his later years, a true football genius in my book, and generally known as the Clown Prince of Soccer.

Can people please stop using the word "footballer" and "genius" in the same sentence, its not doing the believability of the thread any good.

He was actually coherant as well!! We have his Son at the Club we support now and previously he was at Burton Albion FC his Dad refused to be offered any concessions a BAFC and paid for his season ticket year in year out. Dont think his son will be considered either legend or genius on his present form at DCFC

When the Rams moved from the Baseball ground it was pretty certain that Pride would come before a fall.

Real nice guy too and his Mrs.
He used to perform stunts with the tuf old fashioned boots and ball during games, that non of todays stars would even dare try.
I lived close to him during my time in Tenerife, met him often in the local bar and took in the odd match up at Santa Cruz.
I recall one memorable occasion when TF. stuffed Barca 4-0.
He had the same problem as Cloughie with the FA hierarchy.
He was his own man, always spoke his mind, so his face just didn't fit.

Richard Branson might count, Tom Sharpe, and if you get into the realms of celebs, sportsfolk etc, well it depends how low you want to place the bar!

I met and worked with Terry Paine ... a member of the 1966 World Cup winning team ... they got paid enough for him and a few others to buy a race horse ...
