This afternoon retuning from the shops the ice warning beeper sounded and told us the temp in MK was 4* and falling there was sleet in the air. I checked the temp in Ayamonte on the web and it was a balmy 18*. Now at 21.00hr we have a layer of snow and the temp is 1* so think of us as you throw another log on the fire and complain of the cold.

I bet you have the central heating on and you are realy cosy looking out of the window at the snow.I have got my wooly hat on and my coat and thats inside the house watchig the tv.

Have you seen the price of gas and oil in UK. We have extra jumpers on and go to bed early to generate some heat!

Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me where I can buy decent single beds which combine to form a double bed including mattresses that zip together?

We were looking at just this type of bed in Investor furnishing in Ayamonte in mid October. Ken Ewen is the man to speak to on +34 69 79 25 837 and

www.investorfurnishing.co.uk

There is another solution we came across at a hotel in Edinbrugh where two singles were pushed together and then a giant strap passed around both with velcro connection and a padded length to cover the join about £20 each.

I have two single beds pushed together with velcro straps around the legs to stop then drifting apart. Works very well. Straps cost around £4.99

This is the best solution I think and you dont need a zipper actually if you have box or square sided mattresses (i.e rectangular) - in fact it can be more comfortable than a double as you each have a separate area with less 'interference' e.g when someone turns. With a rectangular mattress the join is not really noticeable. If you buy the mattresses with the rounded edge (dont recommend it) then it is possible to buy a 'pont d'amour' as the French say, (bridge of love) which is a shaped piece with straps that sits in the middle so there is no gap.

As Mike says just put a little strap between the bases, to keep them from drifting apart and the mattresses will stay in place.

Sleep well!

Otherwise call Tom or Martin on 0034 959 321 959 Absolute Furnishings in Ayamonte.
They do beds and furnishings and we have had good dealings with them and they are only down the road from Costa Esuri.
