Anyone bank with Barclays in Ayamonte? We have had an account for over two years and have our mortgage with them. The staff were always very helpful and we had no problems .
Recently we visited the bank and asked to see somenone about discussing our mortgage arrangements with a view to changing our product. All the staff seen to have changed and nobody could help, they promised if we returned later that somene would be around that we could talk to ,we did return but were told that someone would contact us within 5 days.
We returned to the UK but no contact was received.I have E.Mailed Barclays three times since our return, again no response.I UNDERSTAND OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS??

Hi,
Just returned from a couple of weeks in Ayamonte Sunny and lovely all the time.
We finished off using our Huelva golf passport. I am less enthusiastic for it now than I was when we first bought them. The idea of 8 rounds pre-paid at 30euros a round to use anytime within a year sounded a good offer.
El Rompedo North was in very poor condition and took us 5.5 hours it was going dark.
Dunas Donnana is not worth the drive. About 6 of the holes run along a very busy main road again this course was in very poor condition. I think Aymariche [spelling] must have given up the management there. It was dead and we couldn't even get a bottle of water.
Nuevo Portil is O.K. but there are loads of fences and gates to keep passing through.
We had 2 days at the Portugal Masters at the Victoria course. What a good value day out. 15euros each day and nothing to park the car.
The marshalls were all members of 'Golf for Greys' an association which costs 50euros a year to be a member and entitles members to discount on green fees and entry into competitions. I asked Isla Canella if they accepted the card and they do. A round would have cost 50% off their top price of 75euros. I understand the other Spanish courses also accept the card. I think most courses offer 30% - 40% off. there is a website.
Mike my electrician husband found himself working a couple of times fault finding on electrical installations. I think I could have left him behind! and looking at the wind and rain here I think he wishes I had.

Yes your opinion on 'Golf for Greys' would be great. First question for you....Would we both need to be members to get discount on a round together? Did you marshall at the Masters? Oh! for info! you don't have to be old to be a member younger people can be associates and get the same benefits.

I played my first competition with Golf For Greys yesterday. It was very well organised and very friendly. Their competition schedule is extensive and features quality courses at very reasonable prices. Competitions are open to members and guests. They also offer reduced green fees at most Algarve courses although I'm afraid I don't know whether a member can obtain a reduced green fee for a non-member. If you send them an email I am sure they could tell you.
We didn't marshall at the Portugal Masters, just went along for the Friday but had a great day out.
Regards,
Mike.

Hi
I wonder if any of you can tell me if free internet access / wifi is still available at the golf clubhouse?
Also, what is the best option to play at the Esuri course and surrounding courses. My wife & I will be there this weekend for 5 days and hope to get at least 3 rounds in. I've heard of the Golf passport that allows you to play a number of courses for a discounted fee. anyone know anything about this?
Any adivice appreciated.
Thanks

I was out a couple of weeks ago and certainly the free wifi at the golf clubhouse was up and working aok. I was most impressed the ipod touch we had with us worked fine and I was emailing away from the terrace.

Hi All,
Just back from a fabulous 2 weeks at Esuri. Stayed for the first time on Marina Esuri as BobD's place was already booked.
We were cheeky and asked AndyS if we could rent his place and much to our delight he said yes. It was great having had the experience in May of an apartment on Rago I we knew a little of what to expect and we were right the gardens were beautiful at the end of summer and the pool was just about bearable so we had a couple of swims but last Sunday I swam for about 1/2 an hour in the sea at Monte Gordo.
The weather for the whole fortnight was mid to upper 20's everyday which was just right for us. I drove down from the Chunnel and it was two exhausting days at the wheel shared with my youngest son we then picked Kath and daughter up at Faro on Saturday. Overnight on the Saturday and well into Sunday morning there was he mother and father of a thunderstorm and a great deal of lightening but after lunch it cleared and it was beach walks everyday after that.
The whole atmosphere at CE seems to be changing with both courses being busy and coach parties on I in the second week and many more cars and people about than before. The shop was open most days and we made a point of getting fresh bread and milk each day. The wifi is still on at the clubhouse and we made use of it about every other day.
We met all our old friends who were in residence and some new ones as well, I must say esurians seem to be such a nice class of people and quite diverse English, Spanish, Portuguese and Scandinavian to name but a few.
I took the photo a week ago Friday and there seemed to be some sort of competition going on all day on golf II but in the background you can see the second part of Albatros phase I which looks very good and complete as was Albatros phase II up behind the Hotel. When these apartments are released they will bolster the population still futher

I returned a couple of weeks ago now from Ayamonte - boy how time flys -and had a look at my apartment in Albatros Golf. I was impressed by the view from the apartment and the development and how Costa Esuri is shaping up.
There were a few things I noticed on the development but the one that worried me the most was the wall to the outside of the stairs and around the terrace on the third floor. It only seemed to come up to my hip level and I'm not a particularly tall woman. I could just see someone coming down the stair from my third floor apartment slipping and there would be nothing to stop a fall over the wall to the ground. Does anyone on the forum know what the spanish building law is on these type of outside walls. Is there minimum recommended height. All the agent would say is that all such walls in spain are built low and it was very common.
Adding another course of the bricks of the type they already have would solve the problem so I'm going back through my solicitor to raise this with the developers. I'd be interested to hear what others on the development think and whether they have raised it with the developers.

We must have just missed each other. We were on 'Albatros' between the 16th and 20th. I dont remember the guarding of the stairs or the Penthouse balconies being particularly low. However, UK building regs require guarding to balconies to be 1100mm, which I think are the same as provided on 'Albatros'.
It would be nice to meet up. Perhaps you could pm me and let us know when you are next out.
Looking forward to seeing a few more people on 'Albatros' and the chance to put the padel courts to use as well.
Can somebody also please tell me which team won the 'Cyder' cup, which was played on the 18th & 19th on the West course?

Recently back from 4 fabulous weeks at our Rago 1 apartment, weather was fantastic apart from 2 thunderstorms which cleared up quite quickly. Golf course 2 was very busy the last week, has anyone else seen the Bronze age ancient burial ground on the course?. We went to Jag`s restaurant 3 times, fantastic food, very nice to meet you Jag, the staff are great too. We met some really nice people on our visit this time and look forward to seeing them again.
