Thins thread is not about the past. Why not start your own thread instead of using every thread to push forward that you are a UK hater.

funnily Matt, it isn't you that is knocking them off course so much now, perhaps the small holding is keeping your mind on the Good Life
for me it isn't so much the off thread - we are all really guilty on that one, but the nasty posts that have been coming out. Must be the Christmas cheer has worn off and reality sunk in - especially when they came out here for the 3S's and all they get is rain and cold

Whether they are related to our days of empire which are the direct cause of the immigration from Asia, India and Pakistan , our relationship with the EU or refugees from conflicts around the world.
If you ignore the past recent or otherwise and its affects then any comments you make about the problems associated with it are meaningless.
You cannot change the history of the UK much as some would like to.
"Your " UK or what you would like it to be does not exist if it ever did.
This thread is not called, " standards in a Muslim school in Derby " ( which has not been closed ). But is called if you need reminding " British Standards ??? "

I am not sure what you want us to do about the past, apart from learn from it. Using other nations as a comparative is a valid point as well, it is highlighting 'standards' of the time that were international but judging the UK or anyone else by modern standards is pointless. I do not know anyone who is proud of those dark times and lets us not forget Ireland.
But what is your point? Are you saying that British standards today are no better than they were simply because a few posters on here do not agree with you or use arguments you do not accept? I am struggling to find why moral equivalence is so important to you.

Al-Madinah School in Derby to close its secondary section
SECONDARY education at Derby’s failing Al-Madinah School will be axed at the end of the summer term.
The shock decision by the Government means that pupils aged 11 to 16 will have to find new secondary schools in the city and there are likely to be staff redundancies.
Schools Minister Lord Nash has made it clear that the secondary section must close or risk losing the whole school.
The primary school will continue.

He lives on one of the last outposts of Empire that has as little in common with real life in the UK as the inhabitants on a South sea Island.

So I talk about farming and I'm a smallholder? Bit of a leap that isn't it Dom? I think we both know what you are trying to say, it's fine, you do that. Want to know why I seem to get away with stuff when others don't? (By the way, that doesn't happen, I get my fair share of bollockings, I'm just a little more approachable than many others and I generally get them in private) It's because I never get personal Dom, I keep all my "fights" to the confines of the topic, the forum or the site, I don't try and bully people, don't try and drag personal things into the fights... That's why I've always said that I'm always more than happy to agree with posts or posters if I think they have a point, however much of a grudge they hold..... And man can SOME people hold a grudge! Oh my, I mean like, for years! So unhealthy.....

Continuing on this topic. Read in the news recently where schoolchildren from Asian families are to be allowed extra leave in term time to visit their "HOME" countries. A few days later in the same newspaper a white working class family are facing fines of up to £8000 because they took their 2 kids on a weeks holiday to Spain....British double standards
