It is rascist Me Me if you condemn all those who follow a certain religion or are a different colour.
It is not rascist to condemn those who acts are illegal in the UK whatever their colour or creed.
To me they are not muslm, jewish or ultra christian chld abusers they are just
ABUSERS carrying out illegal acts.
Focus on the act not on the religon and race of those carrying it out.
All muslims are not child abusers and potential bombers just as all the Irish are not potemtial members of the IRA.

sorry, but the UK has so far been unable to stop child brides, forced marriage, FGM, the killing of young children because they may have devils living in them, the abuse and murder of young children, forced prostitution, murder, rape, robbery etc etc etc
And thats just within their own borders.
lets put own house in order before telling other people what to do

What exactly are you saying here Domino? Let these things go on because we have enough problems of our own?

Because if it was "roundly comdemned by all" the type of things mentioned would not be happening in the UK at all ,would they?
FGM laws deeming it illegal have been in the UK for nearly 30 years, yet the FIRST PROSECUTION FOR IT IS A STEP CLOSER".
The folowing article states that nearly 20,000 girls in the UK are affected each year, yet nobody so far has been convicted.
"Roundly comdemned by all"
, someone, somewhere is taking the pee, don´t you think? If it is as you say, then why haven´t the police, social services etc, had the parents and the "butchers" prosecuted?
Because surely if this practice is condemned by all, surley one member of the public would have pointed the finger and reported the guilty.

Isabelle Gillette-Faye, a seasoned campaigner against FGM, at the Gare du Nord in Paris.
She is trying her best not to be rude about the English.
"In England, you are very respectful of your immigrants," she says.
"It is very different in France. They have to integrate and they have to obey our laws."
Detection
She walks me over to the Eurostar platform to tell me the story of two little girls who were about to board the train headed for St. Pancras to be mutilated in the UK.
"It was a Friday. We heard just in time. They had tickets for the Saturday.
"A family member tipped us off. We told the police and they were stopped from making the journey."
The parents were cautioned. Had they gone ahead with the mutilations and been found out, they would have been imprisoned for up to 13 years.
"We simply will not tolerate this practice," Isabelle explains.
Does she think many French children have been cut in the UK?
"Yes, because you do not care," she says.

The question was - Who exactly considers it "un PC and bigoted/racist"?
That was what you said and that was what I asked.
(check how to spell condemned...)

Well, I could ask you the same question, when you say "it is roundly comdemned by all" who exactly are you talking about?

What exactly do you hope to achieve by talking to a group of people who don't live there any more, though? Wouldn't it be more effective to be writing letters to your MP, the British press, getting in touch with some of the organisations campaigning against these abuses to see what you can do to help?

This is exactly the point I was making earlier in the thread - the authorities in other European countries have much more robust systems in place for tackling these problems. The lack of such political will in the UK cannot be blamed on one or other of the two main parties, as both have been in power for roughly the same amount of time over the last 30 years.

Also a lot of posters live in the UK, so are you saying that we can´t discuss things that are happening there, even when the thread is called British standards?
Also, it seems you are saying that we can only discuss topics that we can be "effective" in and "achieve" results.

Well if the topics were confined to only those that where results could be achieved, then the whole BE forum thing would close down due to inactivity.

Lets hope you are not thinking of becoming a mod.

Do you ever stop to think what you are saying ?

The same could apply to every thread.
Discuss the cost of living, but nothing will change as a result.
Discuss the illegal houses but nothing will change,
Also all posters have the option that if they don´t like the subject matter, to abstain from posting in that particular thred.
It is strange that I haven´t seen you posting the above message about other things that can´t be changed in other threads.

"Following this television expose of clerics, clearly identified by name and the authorities know who and where they are, who are prepared to carry out illegal religious marriage ceremonies involving under-age girls, I would like to see what the UK authorities do about it.
I have seen investigative journalism before, only last year about doctors and even unqualified people who were prepared to carry out female genital mutilation on girls in the UK, which is also illegal (as it most certainly should be). Again, the authorities knew who these people were. But what has been done about it? Nothing - the CPS is only just now (over a month ago) saying that the first such prosecution in the UK may be "close". How close? Just how much evidence do they need? Why have there been over 100 successful convictions in France and no prosecutions, never mind convictions, in the UK?

By the way, this is the case in Spain I mentioned earlier in the thread. The authorities here obviously have very robust arrangements in place for tackling the problem, with a representative from social services having visited the parents at home to make it clear to them that the practice is illegal in Spain, followed by regular gynaeological check-ups on the children, which is how the mutilation came to be discovered.

One might ask if YOU ever stop to think what you are saying. If you did you might not come across as quite so hysterical and bombastic. People might even be inclined to take you more seriously.

Other threads don't tend to go on for dozens of pages with people like you bringing up the same points that have already been dealt with time out of number. I love the way you come out with the startling information that nobody in the UK has yet been prosecuted in an FGM case - may I refer you to my posts #121 and #175 in this thread (here's the latter just in case you're too fatigued by all the hectoring to look:-

By the very natureof a forum, te same topics come up time after time, about illegal house, cost of living, at a host of others, but as I have said before, there has been a lack of the message you post to me.
Nothing new is said on those threads, but you don´t get narked about that.

AsI have said, unless you are a mod, and the post are not offensive, then who are you to decide what the topics are? Or indeed when it has gone on long enough.
I think you are giving yourself a bit too much importance.
If you are bored with hearing things being repeated, then give that thread a miss.
That´s what I do.

I am "deciding" nothing about what the topics are or how long they should go on, merely giving my view which I am perfectly entitled to do. And as you are not a moderator either, you have no remit to prevent me doing so.

Good for them but it's an isolated case. You can bet they are only paying lip service to it.

You are quite wrong. It is not an isolated case and if you read page 13 of this report you will see that by no means is Spain "only paying lip service to it":-

I repeated my earlier post simply to demonstrate to Me Me that she is now practically meeting herself coming back and reposting information that has already been shared with the forum by other people.
