Despite what people think, life as a teenage mother is the hardest thing i've ever done in my life, rather than the easiest as many think it is, and the fathers who abandon these children still dont take any blame for it!
<off my soapbox now>

Cajam. I meant no offence to you as an individual. I'm saying that many people who pay-in to the system are just getting so sick of seeing others who aren't (more because they don't want to nor have to) benefit from it. And I used the word 'bastard' in the dictionary sense, not as a form of insult. FWIW I agree that there are many absent fathers who don't contribute to the upkeep of their children when they obviously should. I see it merely as another fault of successive Governments by not getting to grips with the situation.

However, I also know only too well that we have the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in this country. Can you explain to me why that is? And more to the point. Please explain why people like me should support teenage mothers on benefit?

Matt, with your experience you could no doubt rattle off a list of reasons not to go to Spain. I'm merely providing my opinion on why I'm sick of the UK. I don't see the irony mate.

Here it is, as I see it, plain and simple.
The UK. Matt said in an earlier post when responding to Big Pete that people aren't necessarily bothered about immigration in the UK.
This view does not reflect my own observations. Immigration is a huge problem here. Compounded in three main areas:
1. The rise in Islamic Terrorist incidents.
2. The housing shortage - particularly affecting first time buyers.
3. Labour charges being undercut.
I'd suggest that many people are reluctant to air their concerns regarding immigration because it's 'unfashionable' to do so. After all, you wouldn't want to be labelled as a racist now, would you? Indeed, in October of last year it became a criminal act to behave discriminately toward a group of people because of their religious belief. Despite them causing the deaths of 50+ commuters in London a couple of years ago.
Successive cases of Governmental sleaze, involvement in wars that nobody wants, a non-elected Prime Minister, continual hikes in taxes and restrictions what Big Pete would describe as his freedom to enjoy a smoke are all playing their part in making people re-consider their future in the UK.
The Social Security system continues to support the highest European rate of teenage pregnancy out of taxpayer's contributions. Providing for very young single mothers whilst giving them accommodation and further cash incentives to spew out more 'bastard' children. Immigrant workers who qualify for child benefit allowance (even though their children have not set foot out of Poland since the father has been working in Britain?). Job-seekers allowance to those who prefer to seek a job via the Trisha show. The CSA was such a disaster that it has now been disbanded after having millions of public money wasted on it - only to be replaced by the same organisation with a different name. Where an old war widow who my wife visits once a week is made to pay a full council tax contribution but the Asian family living in the same block of flats are not required to pay at all.
The NHS. 'A service for all' is really is on its arse. Where Cancer patients 'win' treatment via a postcode lottery rather than by need in some cases. Maternity units where children are actually dying as a direct result of the shortage of Midwives.
Prisons so overcrowded that the Home Office is releasing so-called non-violent offenders early. Non-violent because the criminal act that brought about their conviction didn't (this time) result in the death or near-death of their victim/s. Unknown - literally - UNKNOWN numbers of illegal criminal immigrants that never quite made it to Jail and are now living at large. Care in the Community = failure. Register of Sex Offenders = failure. Reform of Prisoners = failure. Paedophiles being told by Judges to buy their victim "a nice bike" to get over their attack.
Shit weather and hose pipe bans. Costly education. And Fearn fri&&in Cotton!
All reasons to seek paradise elsewhere. An elsewhere where you support yourself, abide by the rules of your host country and get back more of what you put in. Be that Spain, Portugal, Cyprus or America. Anywhere better than here!
On a final note. I don't hate my country. I just hate what my country has become. Good luck to anyone whose contemplating the move. And good luck to those of you already there.

good post these are some of main factors that im moving abroad ive been self employed and have been for years over paided in to the system  and if your dont work you given a easy ride but thats another thread going a bit off course there , that has got to be one of the best true posts on this thread :thumbsup:and any one whose followed this thread will agree seeking a better quality of life abroad is the way forward just looking how many immigrates are coming to are country for a better quality of life :D

and thats the thing isn't it? It is an opinion, but opinions are based on experience and fact, not myth and word of mouth.

Some may think I am being a miserable git when I tell people not to open a bar in Spain if they haven't done it before, but the facts are there to see.

As I have said time and time, and time, and time again, Spain is a wonderful country and I love it dearly, but to say things like, I'm getting out of Britain because you cant smoke in a public building, you have to carry an ID card and there are too many immigrants is just too bizarre for words don't you think??

And it that which I have an issue with.........

Not knocking Spain, or slating England, or anything else, it is the blinded blinkered view and the irony of saying the things above.

I have said before, I like Pete, but I don't agree with what he says, and I have noticed that the belligerence grows the later he posts.............

I have no idea why we have the highest rate of teenage pregnancy, but i'd say it could possibly be because many of these girls are trapped in a cycle that they have no idea how to break. Many come from teenage mothers themselves, and have an idealised vision of motherhood, ie thinking that having a baby is someone who will love them forever, through lack of attention at home maybe, lack of education, or maybe from lack of seeing anything other for themselves except for being a mother. For myself, i became pregnant by accident, totally my own fault, and had my baby. I was on benefits for 2 years before getting a job and have provided for myself ever since. I went to to buy my own home, earn good money and raise a fabulous daughter, but its not possible for everyone.
I don't know how to solve the situation, but i do my best to instill into my daughter that it is a difficult job to do and i hope that she will live her life in a different way than i did. If i had the answers to it all i would be prime minister now i expect, but i do know that if we suddenly stop giving these girls benefits then ultimatley it will only be the children that suffer, and they are totally innocent in everything, which is something i think we forget.
I maybe have waffled on for long enough now  but would also like to say that i dont consider myself to be a scrouger as someone else called it in a post that they then deleted, i have worked and paid taxes (very high taxes btw) for many years now and consider that any moneys i did claim in those two years have been paid back.

I'm 34 and have only spent about 9 years in the UK, living abroad isn't something that is new to me, and I originally came on this thread to give my base reasons and my opinions, and you are right, we all have different views and thats what makes us unique, but again I will say............................

Wait till next years and then let me know how ya feel about things yeah??
