Oh well, just quickly.
Nearly every day Pete. I used to cycle there every day. I agree I wouldn't be doing it now. I lived in the country Pete .... we didn't have traffic jams ;) As I said earlier, your view is tempered by where you live, and you live in the overcrowded South. I remember the bad things as well. They are part of the reason I moved here, but that doesn't mean I have to hate my country of Birth, where I was bought up, did my business, and the country that through that business eventually gave me the funds that allowed me to retire at the age of 52. |

Believe it or not I met these two back in the "good old days". Lennie Peters was a pal of my dad.

Yeah, how about the corruption in Spain?
The MASSIVE immigrant problem? The constant divide between most of the regions. The arrest last year of the head of the Armed forces for fear of another Coup d'état. The at times blatant animal cruelty. The somewhat bizarre situation regarding the Valencia Land Grab laws, directly defying the EU. the list goes on...... Wow if i was Mitzy and jdr i would get out quick !! How come they havent reported a urgency to get back to the Uk and buy a place with a couple of sheds in Slough Matt ? |
Re: better quality of life
I think UK is convenient, trouble with this country everyone is so negative about their own country. Going round talking about how bad their country is, how its getting worse instead of acting. Do you ever hear of anything good happening in the news?

I´ve said it before, but if it all goes tits up for me here in Spain then there is a whole world full of other countries for me to try before having to go back to the UK.
but LIVING & WORKING in Spain isn't paradise, but I still prefer it here |

note for diary 1st August 2008 - find this thread;) Some people just dont read my posts, I think a long break is definately on the cards! I agree, and it is sometimes the worse thing to do to come on holiday and get all enamored with the place, the people are nice, the weather is nice, everything is so cheap compared to the prices back home and when you have the buying power of the pound. But hey ho, cant wait till he has to deal with belligerent leccy/ telephone/ bank/ town hall officials, the attitude may have to be dropped then. That said people, I like Pete, I find him an entertaining bloke, I just don't share his hatred and vitriol about Britain, so don't condemn me as a Pete hater OK??!! |

Il stop waffling now:wub:xxxxP.S.I for one am really glad you guys are all out there:wub: PPS I love living here |
