I have nothing against the UK OK, I moan about the high taxes and cost of living but to me theres no more varied and beautiful country in the world that I've visited. I love the countryside, the villages and the country pub socialising. When you get to Majorca you will be picking all the things you don't like there I bet you. You'll like the low taxes, but maybe like me you won't be too happy with the roads, some of which were last re surfaced when Franco was alive :D Super smooth tarmac main dual carriageways .. a couple of older roads of the track but i have never ever been in a traffic jam there in like 12 years of visiting . England has Countryside but what do you do ? you look at it and thats it wow exciting :confused: my garden is countryside boring it is .. Villages are dying Mitzy closing down small banks post offices they are fading quickly , see even you have the emmerdale - Heartbeat memorys :blink: Pubs stuck in a pokey dirty low ceiling place , cant smoke unless outside in the rain , only people who socialise there are the serious boozers . it dont appeal to me in the slightest :blink: Next ? |

I read a hell of a lot of papers, except the Daily Mail, and yeah, I do drive about, I see things, I talk to people, and people on the ground don't give a crap about immigrants and all the other crap that the likes of the Mail tell us, they care about their taxes, how mush things cost, petrol prices, things that matter to them, in that moment in their life.

Yes I go and look at the countryside and as I sit here now I can still close my eyes and imagine myself sitting on the top of Burton Dasset looking over towards edge hill in the middle of warwickshire. Beautiful rolling green countryside .... a view that is different to anything you get here, and which makes you feel really good. ;) Now the countrysode here is magnificent in its own way also, but can't be compared to sitting on the top of Malvern Hills, or in the middle of Snowdonia. |

I used to cycle there every day. I agree I wouldn't be doing it now. I lived in the country Pete .... we didn't have traffic jams ;) As I said earlier, your view is tempered by where you live, and you live in the overcrowded South. I remember the bad things as well. They are part of the reason I moved here, but that doesn't mean I have to hate my country of Birth, where I was bought up, did my business, and the country that through that business eventually gave me the funds that allowed me to retire at the age of 52. |

You cant convince me sorry.
I hate the country its finished gone to the dogs .. If it was half reasonable i would stay but its just got worse and worse and its to late now.. The only way the country is going to go is further downwards , past the point of no return . Sad it is infact sometimes i get angry when i see stuff thats going on here in the land i was born !! |
