I´m with you Pete. I´m a UK hater and I´m ashamed of my nationality most of the time (which I intend to change at some point). I have a whole list of reasons why I left the UK which can probably all be summarised under the general heading of 'disillusionment'. I´ve said it before, but if it all goes tits up for me here in Spain then there is a whole world full of other countries for me to try before having to go back to the UK.

Like I said earlier, nothing specific happened to me in the Uk. It was a build up over 30 years. Having been away from Britain for 5 years I would say that my dislike has increased. The grass actually IS greener. I think being disillusioned with Britain would put me amongst the "normal" people. |

All countries in Europe have the same problems (even MRSA in Spain!) just because you don't hear about them doesn't mean they don't exist. Try watching spanish TV news and reading the local papers, you could be in the UK. I still think the Brits are fantastic, many are thick (as someone said)..yes, but so are many here too.
