When we were out there, mid June, they were doing some work on the M7 swimming pool and we were told by one of the residents that they were hoping to open it within a couple of weeks. However it wasn't open by the time my daughter left at the beginning of July. The people who gave us the info are useing the Rago pools. Regarding the gates being locked, aren't these gates just for access for groundsmen etc? From where our apartment is situated our access is along the path which runs under the stairwells.

Building has started on the first hotel but it has a long way to go.

Turnstyles, deckchairs and ice cream, warm beer!!! Sounds great; better than fighting with the flamingo to get a spot in the pond on the golf course.

Hola Everyone

Pat and I have just returned after a week inspecting CE and the shops etc in Ayamonte and surrounding area. Our Townhouse is now 'officially' finished, although the standard of finish was very disappointing, to say the least. Anyway Benny is going to do us a proper snagging list (we found at least 16 items when we were tired, and we were not really looking very hard) and thereafter we will move towards completion before we go out again in September. Have to say we found Fadesa aomewhat unhelpful and uncommunicative; they never seemed to know the answers to any questions. We were somewhat downhearted for a couple of days, but cheered up towards the end - everything will be alright eventually.

Some thoughts others might like to be aware of
- we bought a Spanish SIM card before we went out, so that we had a 'Spanish' local phone number. You just replace the SIM in your usual mobile and then all your calls in Spain are on the domestic tariff; instead of paying double international charges as your calls ping back to the UK and back again. 0044.com was the website; just make sure you keep a note of the PIN.
- Neil and Trevor at Frontera were great for furniture; very helpful
- while Carrefour was very impressive, we found most of their prices for white goods especially were not particularly competitive. We found a shop in Ayamonte - Idea - had the best values and they seem to be able to deliver and install same day for most things.
- there is a potential issue about car parking spaces for Townhouses. As most purchasers will be aware, each Townhouse has an individual allocated parking space, indeed the space is transferred to you and is specified on the Title Deeds. However, it seems that most spaces will not be those outside your townhouse. Apparently as some weird sort of security feature, Fadesa has arranged for each parking space to be outside a different house. (Something about not being able to tell if a house is occupied by virtue of a car outside, or not.) Our designated parking space is around the corner outside No 31; the space next door outside No 32 belongs to No 28. Thus the spaces for No's 31 and 32 are elsewhere up the road, presumably outside two other houses - and thus it goes on. The scope for confusion seems enormous. Again Fadesa were not particularly helpful.

Oh well good to be back in the warm.
