Well, that exemplifies the stereotypical arrogant, ignorant Brit, and helps explain why people don't like them. Knows everything about nothing. Good job supporting your countrymen!
I ran across this the other day. It seems even the British Tourism board is aware of it and would like to try to change that perception.
But when you have yobs like this one about, there's probably little they can do.

for post #16, you'd understand Grayling is Australian... sort of
As for your comment Amideislas, that would be something only a 'reasonable B**ch' [in your signature] would post

Still, there is this thing about moving abroad that expands everyone's horizons - as long as you don't confine yourself to all that's just like home. Unfortunately, many Brits are unique in that they overwhelmingly prefer British stuff, and tend to confine themselves to that, which sort of keeps the horizons limited.

For sheer arrogance on holiday no one even comes close to the new breed of yobbish young Russians with the Germans trailing a poor second.
The Germans used to lead the way comfortably in the arrogance stakes, but not so long ago I read an article that many were now staying at British resorts to get away from the Russians and from what I've seen personally they are quite right.
As for sense of humour, the Germans lack of SOH is legendary worldwide.
About the only time they seem to let their hair down and be happy is when gathered together in big numbers in beer houses drinking huge amounts of German beer till it's coming out of their ears.

Yes, I'd have to agree. The older ones came from a very different world. But having said that, most of our regulars are 50's-ish Germans, and they seem pretty easy-going.

they say they are the fourth loudest.

True, but c'mon... that kind of ignorant arrogance is the epitome of the stereotype. Of course we aren't all like that, but just look at the how much self-righteous ignorance AND arrogance AND hypocrisy is oozing out all over the place now. Somebody will have to clean that up.

Magaluf doesn't help. I've seen it myself. Luckily it's contained to a couple square kms. But the press value is global.
Now, I have no problem with getting a little wild. I was pretty wild myself in my early days. But the stuff that happens in Magaluf... wild doesn't begin to describe.

it really is shocking what a bad reputation young British now have.
