It is not too often that I witness outbursts from Cricketman for he is on my ignore list.
Here I wonder where the very working class cities in the UK are? and CM definition of the British working class and who seemingly adopt a threatening approach when there are women about.
Now a biochemist to a Sociologist by professional - that is a huge leap in faith. The former is indeed in my considered opinion a professional occupation whereas the latter is one where the 'fluffies' of this life inherit.
It would be interesting to learn where he applied his Sociology expertise and who benefited from his training.
CM makes much of his Spanish experience of middle class towns and thus he must possess middle class values whatever they may or may not be.
His is not a very well crafted email in that from his lofty standpoint the working class are below him in the overall structure of things.
Words escape me.
I was born and brought up in the Rhondda Valley and in say thirty years it was seldom if never that men fought over women. How patronising. They did not have time or the energy to fight they worked twelve hour shifts and suffered from dust CM!
They when you heard the siren going it was gas in the pit and people died.
CM to 1966 Aberfan was a working class village - there a generation died.
I found and continue to find your approach beyond belief and founded upon shifting sand.
Finally Spanish people are in part where they are today by the property boom and where banks were recapitalised by the EU

cman has only lived in Spain a few years - much less than many on here - and it shows in his lack of knowledge of the place and the people.
He's the archetypal Plastic Spaniard.

sound advice but he has always annoyed me

Apologies if I upset you, but I wouldn't fly out of Glasgow if you paid me.
It's bad enough going out of my local one at Ncl because there's usually a crowd of disruptive, rowdy Jocks found their way on board.
Time to rebuild Hadrians Walll methinks.

Problem is in these foreign lands all Brits speaking English often get referred to as English,(not that I've ever heard a Scot speak proper English
), so I strongly object to your drunken lot giving our drunken lot a bad name.

So is my wifes home town.
Do you need any help with the rebuild, I'm free most days.

I believe the Geordie traitors sided with the Jocks way back in the civil war.
Fortunately I'm on the more civilised Mackem side of the border myself.

An example; in a supermarket in Estepona a customer who was obviously German or Scandinavian shouted at the cashier 'talk to me in English'. I had a word with the poor cashier but you could see she wasn't impressed. The English got the blame. It happens a lot.

BBC R5 has a phone in this morning on the subject of the rise of drunken behavior on UK flights.
Its not just a problems once they land its starts in the UK airport.
We have been on flights where drunks were not allowed to fly. once on board a petition was ciruclated congratulating the airline, its flight staff for the steps they took to ensure the comfort and safety of everyone else on board.
How they got back to the UK, who gives a damn.

Even my children are Spanish
If that makes me a "plastic Spaniard" then I must be one. I am a British immigrant but certainly not an "expat".
But hey what do I know, keep it up with the insults

Not only Brits - and it's a point that's very relevant to this thread. I have seen many altercations between people yelling at each other in English when they were obviously not Brits. The English will get the blame for that.
