Not only Brits - and it's a point that's very relevant to this thread. I have seen many altercations between people yelling at each other in English when they were obviously not Brits. The English will get the blame for that.

An example; in a supermarket in Estepona a customer who was obviously German or Scandinavian shouted at the cashier 'talk to me in English'. I had a word with the poor cashier but you could see she wasn't impressed. The English got the blame. It happens a lot.

BBC R5 has a phone in this morning on the subject of the rise of drunken behavior on UK flights.
Its not just a problems once they land its starts in the UK airport.
We have been on flights where drunks were not allowed to fly. once on board a petition was ciruclated congratulating the airline, its flight staff for the steps they took to ensure the comfort and safety of everyone else on board.

But you are also blaming a German (without actually knowing) + Scandinavia is not a country and people from Denmark would be different to people from Sweden (including language). German is also spoken in Austria & Switzerland.
