Well at least they seem to have got this verdict and sentence about right.

Oh dear, I see our Gordon has been virtually ruled out of the top job as the new head of the IMF.
Can't for one moment imagine why.

A certain Cristine Lagarde is now a very strong favourite, apparently being best qualified and very highly thought of.
Shock, horror, eh whitelinen, whatever next, another woman in charge

Interesting turn of events.
The IMF guy has been released without bail after the maid was found to be lying.

I think he is guilty but I always thought he would be aquitted. That is why so many rape cases fail or don't get reported as the woman is always rubbished. So she lied on her asylum application...don't they all to get in!
If his lawyer could get Michael Jackson off from child molestation the Strauss case should be easy peasy.

I doubt very much if he will succeed in the French Presidency race, he will lose the female vote.
When he gets home is there any chance of him going into good works as Profumo did after the Keeler affair ? Well a vain hope, the man has too big an ego, fuelled by the hangers on.
This will however defuse the bad feeling between France and US over his "treatment" and house arrest.

This is not only based on her previous dishonesty, but also on the fact that she was less than honest in strangely failing to mention that after the alleged incident she continued with her work, just as on a normal day, and moved on to cleaning the next room, before deciding to mention the alleged incident to her supervisor.
Does that seem to be the typical reaction of someone who has just suffered a serious attack such as she described or else had her mind been working on other possibilities in the meantime?

The word seems to be that although he's unlikely to be the next Pres. he could still take one of the very top jobs in the next Govt.

From the new evidence that has been published, an acquittal seems highly likely. I just wonder whether the new evidence would have been discovered if the defendant was a poor person.
DKS was able to pay for expensive lawyers and expensive private detectives who uncovered the new evidence. If any of us had been accused by the lying maid, we would still be in orange jump suits on Rikers Island.

One thing that is certain is that no one will ever now know the truth, this will not now go to court any testimony by the female is now rubbished she's an unreliable witness. Is this down to a good defence solicitor or down to good investigation by police? Has she later realised who he was and seen dollar signs, we will never know. No doubt one big winner mind the soilicitor.

It was alleged in the NY times that strauss's lawyer contacted the woman's family. They could be looking at the noughts.

Highly unlikely he would be so silly as to do anything which may jeopardize or shed a bad light on his case, except as a very last resort, and more especially so in view of the recent facts which have emerged.
